Every now and then, we wake up to news of shrines been burnt,
Men and women caught with charms and fetish items.
My question is, is it a crime to practice idolatry?
These items are religious items.
Execpt a crime was committed eg human ritual, I don't think a crime has been committed.
Kindly state your opinion

It has never been a crime. Though some practises of traditional religion are illegal.

grin The stupid men made their laws (Criminal Code) to say that possession of charms is a crime.

Yet their fake courts say that t6potency of charms and witches are unverifiable but they still convict persons on them. Crazy people grin

That's what happens when men make laws. grin

The True Law Position is "Do Not Harm Anyone, No matter what you do"

So whether traditional or artificial, you are free to exercise your God given Permission (Rights) provided you do not cause any harm.

This is Legal Position.

It is a Crime to harm anyone or cause a feeling (apprehension) of harm whether by use of Charms or any thing that can be reasonably suspected to harm a person.

If you would be Truthful, you would admit that seeing a Person with Charms or Fetish Items raises a feeling of harm to you, same as seeing a person with a Gun or a Cutlass.

Therefore it is only Reasonable that such a person must be detained and questioned for carrying such an item or items.

On the Shrines been burnt, if you will be truthful also, you would find that they are Shrines accused of harming people, or which the people have a reasonable fear of harm, for if they do not harm anyone, nor raise a fear of harm, no one would care that they exist in their community not to talk of burning them down.

I think people only attack those claiming Pastors but operating with fetish items and shrines. Once you've made yourself known in your community as a traditionalist, you have the right to report anyone who comes to disrupt your sacred service to your God! smiley

OK... Case scenario
A young boy going to drop a bowl of sacrifice at the junction. Guys around sees him and lynch him saying he's a ritualist.
It's same as a Christian or Muslim performing religious rights in the neighbourhood.

What I find confusing is this.... Is it stated in the constitution that been found with fetish items is a crime?
Please let's laeve out the idea that traditionalists cause harm.... Even pastors and imams do too.

First, that thing called Constitution is illegal. The best it can be is to be called "A Treaty."

So, that illegal document called the constitution is just a talk-talk document, thus, it does not specifically deal with crimes.

So therefore, no talk about fetish items

It is the illegal man made criminal codes/criminal laws which specifically deals with crimes

I did not exclude pastor, imams, pope, Magi from any criminal liability when they harm people too.

They are as guilty as the witch and babalawos.

It is still in line with my earlier statement which is that fetish items cause a fear of harm in people which brings about the reaction you are speaking about.

Truthfully, no one sees a Christian or Muslim performing their rites and fears harm!

Imagine if Africans were the first to cross the Atlantic, and we took IFA worship to the whites....will you still think of Christianity or Islam as the way? Or won't you be proudly IFA?

IFA is the result of demons in this side of the world!
Those demons moved to different parts of the earth after God disengaged them from heaven so they came down displaying powers to make people fear and worship them.
They are evil spirits! smiley

Have you not heard where church or mosque being burnt?

You won't see people burning anything because it's illegal but with a perception that something evil or untruth is going on there.

So to your question, traditional practice isn't illegal in Nigeria.

Yeah! "bowl of sacrifice at the junction" requires serious explanation especially the murdering and destruction of another person and his property part. cheesy

Crossing the ocean does not harm a person, so it would be viewed as law full.

What he asked is UNLAWFUL from human's perspective!

There's no IFA rendering that orders it's worshipers to go PREACHING and TEACHING people of strange lands anything unlike the clear order Jesus gave his disciples:

Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things" Matthew 28:18-20

Do you notice what Jesus said there?

All authority has been given me in HEAVEN and on EARTH!

No demon can utter such with confidence that is why no religion from any part of the world made that move to propagate what they have because it's against human intellect for you to start doing what you're not asked to do! smiley

He did not state anything about preaching and teaching only "crossing the ocean" which is not a crime.

So stick to the issue and stop manufacturing your own issues.

You are only arrogant and instead of learning from those who knows better than you you're so puffed up with worthless pride.

OK he said "taking IFA worship to the whites" for them to do what with it?

After you have ceased the opportunity of my error to insult me, yet you say you are not my enemy?

By the way, I solemnly admit my error and apologize.
