I was watching the news the other day on TV, NTA network precisely and some individuals were shown to us. They were arrested for various offences such as banditry, fraud, robbery, etc. However, something came to my mind which I have not thought of over a long time. I was wondering why such arrested persons faces are not usually shown to the viewers. I think it should be shown so that people will learn from it not to ever involve in crime because you will be publicly shamed? Or what is your take on these? |

Because they are presumed innocent in the eyes of the law untill proven guilty, and parading suspects is anything but constirunal 1 Like |

Lingudy: Because arrest does not mean guilt. That a person is arrested does not mean that they are guilty of the crime they are accused off, they may be innocent. The law requires us all to assume that all arrested suspects are innocent until the courts pronounce them guilty 1 Like |
