Justice Development and Peace Caritas (JDPC) Awka Diocese, the social arm of the church tasked with ensuring good governance and sound political participation within the society, held its press conference earlier today, addressing amongst other things, its CLIP Clinic Initiative and position in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.

In his address, the Director, Rev. Fr. Levi Ndubisi Ukor, stated that in couple of days the good people of Anambra state will be presented with another opportunity to choose who becomes their governor for the next four years.

Sharing JDPC's concerns with the recent security challenges in the state, a development he said Anambra is not known for in the past seven years, Rev. Ukor, however, reassured, "amidst this sad situation and more, what can we do? We must not lose hope. The Justice, Peace and Development Caritas (JDPC) Awka Diocese has not and will never lose hope. We wish to encourage the good people of Anambra state to stay strong in this trying moment".

Thanking the Obiano's administration and other government agencies for swiftly rising to these challenges, the Director also commend the electoral umpire, INEC, in what he described as giant stride with the introduction of electronic voting. And also JDPC be part of the monitoring process for the election.

Rev. Ukor revealed that in the past years JDPC have consistently observe and report elections in the state, and the November 6th election won't be an exception. In ensuring a peaceful conduct of the election, the group called on all candidates to allow their interest be driven by passion in order provide quality leadership to the people.

Call against voters intimidation was also made and the security agencies charged to do more to protect the average Anambrarian who is willing to exercise his or her franchise.

Appreciating the unwavering support and paternal guidance of Lord Bishops Most Rev. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor and his auxiliary Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye, the Director assured that JDPC monitoring team will be on ground to observe and report facts.

My Nelson Nwaenyi, Project Supervisor of JDPC, moderated the press conference and at interval dwell more on the CLIP Clinic Initiative, which stands for Community Legislative Interactive Platform.
