I'm not an engineer but I'm interested in forging (especially for rockets and cylinders) I read an article that before the forging methods you need to have accurate sizing (length, width, height) in order to accurately apply different forging methods available. (For reference: https://astforgetech.com/open-die-forging-vs-closed-die-forging/)

I wonder if how engineers somehow use the tools you mentioned below for planning out designs for lets cylinders for oil, gas, and hydrogen... or do you guys use AutoCAD for these bigger projects?

An engineering drawing is a type of technical drawing used to define the requirements for engineering products or components. ... It is usual for engineering drawings to include a series of projections showing different angles of the item, as well as sections, 'exploded' views and so on. The most common way to communicate all the information is by using three different views in a multiview drawing: Front view. Top view. Side view.
