In my time, no school accepted D7. I don't know about now.

Those subjects are 'smash-able', maybe he wasn't serious with his school's cert. Exams.
mass communication is now a competitive and making the schools has too many students to screen out hence increasing the requirements. All popular schools now requires both English and math credit and above.

Some private schools can accept but you will have to resit and pass all your required subjects else no graduation for you.

And which other Universities will accept this result for mass communication.

stop dishing advise like an authority... Some schools require u get credit in maths for arts social sciences courses... The op should get jamb brochure and read requirements and see which school can accept pass in maths...
Had something similar in Mathematics and studied nearly the same course, not just in a any university but OAU. Standard of education compared to what applies over a decade ago has diminished. So what on God's green earth are you yapping about?

Mathematics is not a prerequisite for Art related courses. A pass will do in most cases save in situations where the competition is high.

You said SOME SCHOOLS and I said SOME SCHOOLS. Are we not on the same page? The person I quoted said NO SCHOOL does. If you agree with me that some schools do consider Maths and some do not, is the person I quoted not giving the wrong information by saying NO SCHOOL will give admissions without maths IN ALL COURSE?
that's not what you wrote oga...

Now I confirm your ignorance is from a single perspective. UNILAG is not the standard of education in Nigeria. For Arts students taking JAMB, the four subjects they take is English, Literature, Government/History and a Nigerian Language OR a religious subject.

For Political Science, the subject combination for JAMB is English, Literature, Economics and Government or History. Generally, 5 credits are required from the aforementioned and AT LEAST A PASS IN MATHEMATICS!

Looking at the chap's result, he has the needed credits to sit for JAMB and get into a higher institution if he aces his JAMB examination. D7 is a pass last I checked, right?

Plus, HE DIDN'T ASK THAT HE WANTS TO STUDY POL SCIENCE, SO WHY BRING IT UP WHEN THE COURSE IN QUESTION IS MASS COMMUNICATION? Your response is a major reason why most undergraduates/graduates are unemployable. Poor understanding of the subject matter but the peppersouping must go on just to argue blindly.

"stop giving false information. A lot of courses does not require Maths. E.g law, religious study, English, Yoruba etc I am very sure even mass communication in some schools does not require mathematics."

That is what I wrote.

And I saw one commenter @Sanchez01 agreeing that he study a similar course to that of OP and has a similar grade in maths. I am glad he is talking from experience. I study a course "ranked" above that of OP in Ife and math is NOT REQUIRED. I hope you and the guy that said ALL SCHOOLS required MATHS will learn and stop giving false information.

Let him bask in his ignorance. I was misinformed by an unfortunate vice principal in secondary school, growing up and spent 4 years retaking GCEs because of Mathematics when I had D7s in Mathematics all along. I have shared the story on the forum repeatedly over the years.

Great for mass comm and all other courses in the humanities.

But why mass communication in today's world?

That course is going into extinction.
