Good day, guys,

Please I need everyone's opinion on something urgently. Recently, I needed money to complete payment for my fees I asked around but I was referred by friends to try a loan app. The name of the app is BorrowNow, I registered and I took a loan of 14,000 naira from them to pay back 23,000 in 7 days. The interest rate was too high but I needed the money so I took it.

Thankfully I was able to pay back before the due date and my credit limit was increased to 32,000 naira. I did not need it for anything so I did not apply. Few minutes later I got a credit alert of 20,000 naira from my bank and a text from them saying I am to pay back 32,000 naira in 7 days.

I went through the review of the app on play store and I realised I was not the only one with this issue. A lot of people said after they pay back their loans, they are given loans again without applying.

I sent messages to them but there was no reply so I did not spend the money. Now the loan is due and they are threatening me to pay back the 32,000 naira else they would arrest me, send messages to my contacts and also send my pictures to media houses and post it on social media that I'm a fraudster running away with their money.

I did not take their threats seriously because I know my rights and I know a 50% interest on a 7 days loan is insane. Only for me to see an email from NIMC this morning saying that if I don't pay within twenty four hours they would send my picture and other information about me to media houses and also on social media.

I don't know if I can post a copy of the email here but I am scared. Is NIMC really working with this people or they are just bluffing. Please I don't know what to do I've not been myself since yesterday, I've not been able to sleep or eat I even have an exam this morning but I don't know if I can sit in that exam hall for hours without knowing what is happening and be at peace.

Please somebody should tell me what I can do.

My question is why didn't you liquidate the money immediately when you received it. By keeping the money you might have become complaisant. Again what's your plan keeping that money.

Make una flee from all these loan sharks na, everytime na one story or another.

Let them go ahead. You don't kill a debtor. Did you tell them you won't pay?

They use bulk sms to send the mail. Send them back there money and email NITDA narrating that happened in details. If they have an email address, put them on copy of the mail. They are mad

As much as you can, and as much as you can try

NEVER EVER PATRONIZE ANY LOAN APP

They are not working in your interest and unfortunately CBN is not regulating their excesses..

Even though Most Nigerians are chronic and bad debtors. How on earth will you charge 18% interest in 7 days? If I get what can pay me 18% in 7days will I need money from them?

How much is the MPR ratio for this country for God sake.

The top guns in CBN are in bed with these loan sharks that this why they have the audacity for these brazen daylight robbery taking place in this country

The email used is officialnimc4debtrecovery@gmail.com

I even sent them an email but I have not gotten any reply. Same thing that happened when I got the credit alert. I sent them an email saying I did not apply for it and I would like to send it back immediately but there was no reply. Somebody said they would call my contacts but I read to prevent that I should deny all the app permissions and uninstall it. Maybe that is why they have not called anybody.

You can even sue them for forging the signature of the director of NIMC.

The email is fake, NIMC doesn't have business with an unauthorized loan app, they're just threatening you to make payment that's all.

If you have money pay them, if you don't have at the moment, request for more time.
