Did you read the part where developer added 6 extra floors to a foundation set for 15 floors. Can you imagine the extra dead load that would have added.

It immediately cancels the structural integrity of the floors below it, any of the columns giving way may lead to failure.

I get your point but this one is just too obvious.

Developers building sky scrappers should be as precise as pilots and airline operators. Airbus meant for 250passengers should never carry 400 capacity. Some professions are not allowed to make errors of this nature.

It's best this tragedy never happened.

Let's be objective for once. Femi Osibona is not an artisan or bricklayer. He has various sub contractors handling their part. He cannot and couldn't have been everywhere supervising the cement mixing or the placing of rods strategically. He gives orders and maybe, just maybe, these people contracted or even the site engineer decided to make money by cutting corners.
The only sad blame here is if you are not a building engineer, architect or quantity surveyor by profession, don't go into real estate because if armed with this certifications, you can never be short changed except you allow it. Period...no sentiments or insensitivity intended.
