Malam Adamu Adamu, Minister of Education, has declared that it would take the country about 120 years to have the number of medical doctors needed in Nigeria’s health sector.

The Minister spoke at the weekend during the maiden matriculation of the Federal University of Health Sciences (FUHSO) held at its temporary site, Otada in Otukpo Benue State.

Adamu also noted that the university would bridge the huge gap in Nigeria’s need for medical doctors across the country.

Represented by Arc. Sunny Echono, the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education, Adamu further said, “based on the existing production rate, it will take Nigeria about 120 years to have the number of doctors she needs, assuming all our doctors remain in the country.”

According to him, the university “will act as a catalyst, through training, research and innovation for the effective utilisation, exploitation, and conservation of Nigeria’s natural, economic and human resources

Shebi Ngige said Nigeria have many doctors hence those who wants to immigrate should proceed? Mean- while, how come is Buhari’s own being quickly met by doctors in cosy London hospitals?

The dwarf Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, once said that Doctors are free to leave Nigeria as we have enough, so what's the Minister of Health yapping about ?

Then they should lower the extreme requirement for graduation of medical students.

For example, in my school, lets say they are 150 100level students and the school only need like 70 students to crossover to 200 level, you'll see even students with high GPA being dropped all because they weren't the highest 70 required students.. They was even a time where students with first class GPA were dropped cos even with their first class, they were still below the highest 70 students... They should make more room for medical students to graduate.
