Cylinder block: Cast aluminium. TRANSMISSION 6 speed Tiptronic. Drive: 4WD. PERFORMANCE Power: 350 bhp. Torque: 440 Nm (325 lb-ft). 0-60 mph: 7,2 secs. Maximum speed: 155 mph (251 km/h). RUNNING COSTS 22 mpg. Euro Emission Standard: Euro IV. Notes: Full-size luxury SUV from Audi, and make no mistake, it IS big! The Q7 is built on an extended Volkswagen Touareg / Porsche Cayenne platform, it's longer, and wider. Extremely luxurious, matches the Porsche Cayenne, and puts the Volkswagen Touareg in the shade. Very competent on tarmac, not as accomplished as the Cayenne or Touareg off-road, lacking a separate low-range transfer case. 4,2 V8 engine is the familiar, well-proven FSI unit as used in the B7 Audi RS4, though in a detuned state. Still blistering performance, for it's bulk. It tips the scales at close to 2,3 metric tonnes. Lighter than its cousins Cayenne and Touareg, despite its larger dimensions. Needs a competent technician for maintenance, due to FSI (Fuel Stratified Injection) technology. OTHERS TO CONSIDER BMW X5 E70 xDrive48i 4,8 V8 Automatic (350 bhp).
