Growing up in lagos, i had so much fun with different tribes, moving from a (Flat)to (MY house) (face me i slap you) in lagos, ibadan,

    There are just so many different tribes, i mix up with them, i even understand some, lil bit of Igbo language, and can reply ack when u abuse me
I lived a lil bulding away from, the irhobos, in my building, they were my bestfriends, they showed me the way of life, this people helped me adapt today in anywhere  i find myself, because of the way we played,  eat, and drink today. A day can not go by, with me not playing with these irhobos, they were poor, i was rich, wehad different fun, when problem came to my home, the experience i got from them, helped me move on.

these tenants, are igbo, even tho we quarrel a lot, they are just these fun loving people, we walk around, play games together, have our baths together, different things together, from there, i moved to gbagada

         different tenants from different states, watched soccer together as a boy growing up, these igbo are grown up people and i was only 14 and 15, my existence with them, got me exposed to the meaning of life, they taught me a lot about soccer, even tho they are grown up, i so much love em, cause they was fun loving people, one of my best friend, actually always help me, anytime i was in need of RABA(God bless his soul, the guy who exposed me to internet).

boarding house, was a whole different experience entirely, my best friends was IGBO, school just wont be fun without them, diff things, their existence in soccer, made school just fun loving, The guys who was actively involve in musik, was my good friend, he was also Igbo too.  we eat, bath, make fun together, before i travelled from there

Life on NlaNd, got me all fuckeed up, the first thread i stumbled upon, was SMH, the most tribalistic stuff have ever seen, infact it made me register.
It all died down, soon, election period, got closer, and these tribal sentiments grew worst, every page u see, must either be, you sucks to be igbo for real, or you sucks to be yoruba for real, or you sucks to be hausa/almajiri/fulani
This tends to grew higher, that i found myself, lost in laughter that, i became a bandwagon, abusing different tribes out there, i even go as far, as looking for ALJ hareem, post, just to make fun of him.
Lately, i realized, i was just lost in fun, my brain grew smaller, but my sense of sarcasm grew bigger, every thread, i make sure i turn it into one joke or the other, even tho am not as crazy as 190 
Lately, i ask myself, why all this tribalism statement, i always get myself into?
Was our forefathers, really tribalistic, that it got into us?? or are we doing it for fun?? or we just tend to act like that?? are african really that racist?? even among themselves?
and if so why is, the airwaves in lagos, tending from diff tribes, religion beliefs, diff country still these fun never stop??
                              The ? is are Nigerians really tribalistic, or we just abuse each other for fun? cause me and my igbo friends abuse each other, but we can kill anyone who goes against us, or is the internet really a tool, for we Nigerians venting our problems??

The truth is that many of us move along quite well in real life. Many of my best pals are Igbo. We live and do a lot of things together. If we have issues/differences it is never Igbo vs Yoruba. We always look at every issue /difference objectively and try to arrive at a logical conclusion where possible.

The tribal war you see on NL is not real and is usually propagated by few NL members who you can count at your finger tips, but they make lots of noises and can open 20 threads a day. They look for all the bad news involving the other ethnic group and publicize them as if crime is a monopoly of an ethnic group. Unfortunately a lot of people were forced to take sides save few. I believe we can all stop this if we choose to ignore these few ignorant tribal warlords' posts and threads.

Fact is; problems exist all over Nigeria. There are good and bad people all over Nigeria. Rather than making it an ethnic rivalry, we should jointly condemn what is wrong and applaud what is right irrespective of who and what ethnic group is involve. And demand good leadership and accountability from all our leaders.

I have friends from all tribes too but I don't think that is ENOUGH reason to IGNORE the evidence right in front of us DAILY!! TRIBALISM(as Colin Quin said it well) is what is holding us, what is holding Africa back. I am not suggesting we all get paranoid or something, or talk accept it and go berserk like the many insecure-tribalistic-munchkins of Nairaland, but we need to acknowledge that this a real problem, if we really want this country to be better.

Guy, what u see on NL is the reality on ground. Tribalism is alive and kicking. I've been a receiver of this scourge in real life and not just virtually on NL. IT IS REAL. Though I hope it wouldn't change your personality for the worse as it never did to me, the earlier you realise its there, the better for yourself. Its also one of the few most important reasons why Nigeria is the way it is presently.

What doesn't kill u will make u stronger. Tribalism is there. I HATE it with all my life but u must understand it and develop immunity to it so that when it happens to u, u don't feel bad. Whatever u see online here, is REAL on ground. Its just that u've got to shine ur eyes to see it. Before knowing NL, u might not have known about it. Hopefully, NL don shine ur eyes.

As for me, the only reason why I find it EXTREMELY difficult to engage in tribalistic rants or even categorize or stereotype a whole group of people is my ability to always look at things individually rather than collectively. This also has its downsides but I'm ok with it. I wouldn't do otherwise.

Age long or not, it is tribalism and it is happening even this year --- the most recent disaster record less than 2 months ago(800 lives lost), not 100 years ago! And the perpetrators, and those who make tribal decisions do not just wake up one day to do that, they spent time ruminating on those ideas and how to get back at folks from the other tribe. Don't get me wrong. I was talking about others not joining them in taking sides. As for the mods we will definitely keep deleting and banning them. I have deleted so many posts and threads i cant even count already and three people are serving ban already. that will continue for sure.
