And that he sold the gun with the belief that it was to be used for hunting antelopes and other types of bush animals and not armed robbery.

That might make the judge to consider a lighter sentence such as reduce jail term due to old age.

Quite unfortunate, he shouldn't be dealt with kid gloves due to his age he has committed a generational crime.

I'm not judging this old man nor the young man for their deeds,I am judging the cops who came to arrest them for holding umbrella and opening doors for the politicians responsible for the crimes of these two citizens,when the economy is bad trades don't yield profits,go to vienna and see go to australia and dubai and see how many people are engaged in criminal activities? Crime rate in these places is down to 5-10% due to a good economy,among the comments here are people who add unsolicited prices to the goods in their shops,among them are those molesting their niece and nephews and neighbours kids in secrecy,in a working economy papa here should be well settled and retired and this young land should be a detective but here we are and you want me to act like I don't know or understand why they did what they did?its good to accept responsibility for our actions but lts not forget our reason for those actions,when was the last time these cops summoned the sitting chairman in that community to ask him or her what they are doing to keep the youths engaged?when?I ask you all to search your hearts,what they did is bad but the police should also know that they have the right to make politicians do the jobs they where voted for because that is law and order,the police should make it mandatory for politicians to submit a list of their agenda and program for the community during their tenure as this is important for the peace and security of the community have a good day.

A 28-year-old robbery suspect simply identified as Emma Ighodalo, an indigene of Irri village in Isoko South, led policemen to the hideout of a 77-year-old gunrunner, Michael Enipozi.

Focus Naija can report that policemen from Ozoro swung into action after receiving a distress call that three armed robbers were operating at the premises of a man(name withheld) along Ozoro/Ughelli road.

According to the Delta State Police Spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, the robbery suspect arrested with a live cartridge after his gang members escaped, confessed to have thrown away his gun into the bush while trying to escape from the combined team of policemen and vigilantes mobilized to the scene.

He also confessed that he bought the gun from the septuagenarian gunrunner for N30,000 and led policemen to his hideout from where three double barrel guns, two single barrel guns and tools used in manufacturing guns were recovered from him.

Upon interrogation, it was gathered that the septuagenarian is a welder that manufacture guns for criminals and has been in the business for over twenty years. He also admitted selling the gun to the robbery suspect.
