CYMS Accepts Partnership To Showcase Indigenous Products In The US by Daudupress: 9:26am On Nov 26, 2021
In a view to encouraging diversification of Nigeria economy from over-dependence on oil and white-collar jobs to boost the revenue and also ensure self-reliance on our teeming Youth.

The Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitisation (CYMS) has accepted the partnership request from the Organisation of Youth – in International, Trade, and Commerce (OY-ITC) and BUY – Naija Projects to assist in the implementation of the Nigeria – US Trade and Commerce Summit 2022.

The acceptance letter which was signed and presented by Mallam Shamsudeen Haruna; the CYMS’s Director, Planning & Strategy was received by Mr. Chinedu Amadi; the President OY – ITC and Amb Dr. Ngozi Judith Omeche; Director, BUY – Naija Projects on Thursday 25th November 2021 at the Federal Ministry of Trade & Investment, Abuja Nigeria.

According to Mr. Obinna Nwaka; Director-General, CYMS who made the partnership known to the public shortly after the official presentation expressed optimism and was excited that the development shall give young entrepreneurs who are into production of Made in Nigeria products and other services a golden opportunity in their lifetime to showcase their God-given talents and products in the faraway United States of America, adding that the program which is in line with the CYMS objective will do everything possible to ensure the project is sustained, meet the expectations of relevant stakeholders and encourage entrepreneurs after the exhibition to become successful in their chosen areas of specialization.

Nwaka, who went further to share the experience of their past exhibitions/capacity building in collaboration with Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and other International bodies where entrepreneurs were mobilized from different States to participate realised that young people are desirous to contribute to the growth and economic activities of our great country through their skills but oftentimes, lack of conducive environment and sense of belonging has been their major challenge including inability or patience to acquire necessary documentation from the regulatory bodies.

He emphasized the need to wave some “bottleneck” requirements from prospective participants willing to showcase their products and readiness to accelerate support for serious talented entrepreneurs without many resources for the programme.

On the other part, Mr. Chinedu Amadi the President; OY- ITC expressed gratitude for the partnership and assured the party of commitment while Dr. Ngozi Judith Omeche elucidated on the concept of BUY Naija creating jobs among other things.

The OY-ITC and BUY – Naija Projects request for a partnership letter addressed to CYMS through the Director-General was as a result of the organisation’s antecedents and programs centered on youth empowerment, capacity building, awareness creation, and promotion of the policies & programs of the Federal government.

The CYMS delegation during the event comprises Mr. Maurice Chima; Director ICT, Mr. Stanley Uche Ogbonna, etc.

News gathered that part of CYMS responsibility is to render technical assistance, recommendations, documentation of selected participants & sensitisation of the project which is scheduled to take place in Houston Texas USA come February 2022.
