In 1967 he became the administrator of Yenegoa
Province of Biafra and the commissioner for rural
DEVELOPMENT. "Biafra" , a name familiar with the Old eastern region and Igbos today WAS suggested by him.

Chief Opigo gave Biafra (after the Bight of Biafra now
Bonny) its name and the rest of the seceding eastern region adopted it.

Biafra historical record would remain incomplete if
this great Ijaw son is not remembered.

Social media has made many of you to come online to show your deep level of ignorance. Your comment reeks of stupidity and ignorance on many fronts.
Let me just touch a few. Are you aware that lagos was given by the Portuguese to mean collection of waters. Does that in any way demean the state?
Was Nigeria not a name given to this geographical location by Lord lugard's girlfriend? So does that make Nigeria who bears the name mumu?
Now coming back to address your ignorance, that axis called bite of biafra has existed in the world atlas, even before the creation of Nigeria. It represents that southern arc before the Atlantic ocean. If the people residing on that axis of the globe decided to adopt that name to represent those there, it's not wrong. But ofcourse, ignorance filled with hate will make kids like you continue to be stupid forever. That's why Nigeria will continue to fall into the hands of bad rulers, because they have your type in good number to vote for them purely out of tribal bigotry
