We’re not against restructuring, our demand is Biafra, referendum – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra has said it is not against restructuring of Nigeria.

The Media and Publicity Secretary of the secessionist group, Emma Powerful, said this on Monday in a statement made available to our correspondent in Awka, Anambra State.

The group, however, said its major demand was for a referendum to decide whether “Biafra” would continue to be part of Nigeria or not.

He said, “Nigeria government must bear one thing in mind, IPOB is not fighting restructuring. We are not against restructuring but our demand is not restructuring.

“Our demand is restoration of Biafra State. All we need is a date for referendum to decide whether or not we want to continue with this forced marriage (Nigeria).

“Those who think Nigeria is ready for restructuring may have to think again. Those benefiting from the current lop-sidedness have made restructuring impossible. They are unlikely to heed the clamour for restructuring.

“But for us, the only thing that can make us slow down a little is government giving us date for referendum. Restoration of the Sovereign State of Biafra is a divine mandate."

Well said..! All these guys are true lovers of Nigerians.... Not that they are against restructuring but they have lost trust in the leaders... And that's the same mindset of all Nigerians. Who else trust any Nigeria politicians? Those who benefit from this bad situations Nigerian is in will never want the country to be restructured. Even local government chairman, people in their local doesn't trust them... Let there be referendum where people will decide if they want to remain in Nigeria or not! If the politician know truly they've done well so far, they shouldn't be afraid of conducting it, but they know they have done very badly... Even in the north, people want to splits if the opportunity present itself... The whole of the south want to split..

Whether they wail or gnash teeth, it surely won't stop Biafrans from attaining the heights Chukwuokike abiama has destined and designed for us.

I like where they said they don't want to continue in the forced marriage called Nigeria. Also, bear in mind that you can not force marriage on any tribe in the name of Biafra or delusional claim that they are Ibos.

Nice response from d Biafran Patriots. Even those pushing for restructuring know very welll they were not going to get it but for political correctness they keep denouncing d agitators that want dismemberment. With Orji Uzor Kanu outburst y'day am sure Nnamdi Kanu is not even interested in their political solution to regain his freedom. It appears he must have told OUK that he should tell his slave masters to try him in court without all these adjournment cos in a free n fair trial Buhari can never jail MNK

Depending on what happens from next year till 2023, referendum may be struck out and outright separation will be the only option.

All those things are easier said than done?

If u know u can put your money where your mouth is and u are sure of what u are saying and not just doing the normal running your mouth like Ipob does.

Engage me in this, first tell me what u want the federal government to restructure in Igbo land if u think u want restructuring?

If u say u want Biafra tell me what resources the federal government is controlling in Igbo land that has stopped it from developing like other regions?

If with all the free allegations southeastern states are receiving Aba and owerri is still in that shape imagine how it would be when the free money stops and u become a landlocked nation who now instead of receiving free money from Nigeria monthly, but instead have to pay money to Nigeria everyday from immigration, to airspace to seaport etc.

Tell me abeg

You reason like an average dumb nigerian who only thinks that the world starts and ends in natural resources found under the ground and access to the seas. The greatest assets of any nation is it's quality human resources not natural resources if it's actually all about natural resources and access to the seas many landlocked countries without any natural resources like Switzerland, Rwanda etc won't have been far better than nigeria in all aspects of human development.

Right now what’s stopping southeast from developing despite the Human Resources?

Or are they not existing now?

The way u can’t answer my question is the way when even if Nigeria divides and the reality hits u, u would be surprised.

Human Resources like the ones they are resourcing in Malaysia and Indonesia and South Africa that has put a lot of them on death roll, or the ones they are resourcing in owerri?

If Human Resources was all it takes to develop a nation the north would be the richest region in Nigeria

U guys are just thinking from country or divisional point of view but not from the operational point of view.

Google Lesotho, Lesotho and Biafra are geographically similar they both have Human Resources but Lesotho is geographically located at a disadvantage making it heavily reliant on South Africa, u want a Biafra where if even a Nigeria ever visits una go dae look am like Davido? Even if it’s a poor Nigerian? Because Biafra is a poor country
