I don't think you will make this comment if you are walking the road at night and got bitten by that living anti personnel land mine,that creature is venomous, poisonous,deadly and remorseless ,it does not run fast away like other snake but will wait for you to come closer before biting without provocation,it should be killed at sight without mercy,if you are unfortunate to be bitten by such snake in Nigeria were antivenem is non-existent it is a death sentence,I am a farmer and the bush is my office,you may work in an airconditioned office and type about giving viper animal rights,no farmer will see that ticking time bomb and let it crawl away to bite you another day
