Rivers United fc of Port Harcourt have failed to qualify for the group stage of the CAF Confederations cup second time in a row. Rivers United won the first leg by 2 goals to one in Aba, but lost one nil away in Egypt. The aggregate scores was 2-2, but Al Masry of Egypt qualified on away goal rule. And after now, they will come to NPFL and be dragging CAF Champions League spot with Enyimba when at the end of the day, they won't even qualify for the Group stages of Caf Champions League nor Caf Confederation Cup. Rivers United goalkeeper Victor Sochukwu was the saving grace. It could have been more.. Fortune Ominiwari should have scored an equalizer in the dying minute.... Rivers United needs to work ion their defence if they want to go far in CAF competition next year if they qualify.. |
