The Nigerian police with tens of thousands of staff covering 36 states and the FCT, are going to be owed salaries just a few weeks to the festive period. But here you are, trying to downplay it as “not a big deal”, and “just 2 agencies”.

You and those who support this senseless regime have been proven to be air heads but you keep taking it up a notch higher. Ediots!

The usual ignorant reaction from folks who know little or nothing about how government works. Some of us are only trying to educate ignorant folks like you but the only thing your brain can come up with is that we want to support government. Support government for what exactly? I am a federal civil servant so i should know better and be able to correct false news like this.

Budget are done for control purposes. If there is a shortfall in the personnel budget of any agency, the management of the agency should be held responsible. This has nothing to do with the president or party. It happens under every government or president.

It is not a big deal because it would be corrected. Budget shortfalls like is why we have the service wide vote. There will be delay of two or three weeks but they will be paid. The delay is due to the fact that the reason for the shortfalls needs to be investigated, the actual amount needed to pay the workers confirmed and the bureaucracy involved in approving and releasing fund from service wide votes takes time.

If you've worked with the government..u will understand what he is trying to say.
Thing is, most of the head of ministries employ forgetting that in the beginning of the year, they allocate budgets for salaries.
When u over spend the budgets allocated to you..it becomes an issue.

But the good thing is, the government always have a way of paying that. ...but it usually comes late.

You’re looking for an excuse for an incompetent government. It clearly says shortfall in budgetary allocations which can also mean that there’s no money. You’re making a one sided case when we know clearly that it could be anyway, especially from a reckless and incompetent government.

No where did it insinuate that the departments overshot their budgetary allocations. So while making a case for the failure called Buhari, you can as well tell same to the policemen who’ll vent their frustration on hapless Nigerians.

Don't ever let Nigeria happen to you. That's a key statement!
chatinent:
But each governor has a convoy of over ₦350m = about ₦12,000,250,000.

Same with senators and house of reps member who are almost over 400 persons. That is about ₦140,000,000,000. I don't even want to count ghost workers.

How about those efulefus littered in the country’s government houses? How about Ministers.... without portfolios? Comptrollers? Commissioners...whose only past record is they were once governors? State Houses? Ghost? There are over 2000 persons. That is about ₦700bn.

The total is about ₦852,000,250,000.

And guess what? That's an underestimate of what they use monthly. This isn't their salaries, allowances or loot too! This is just their cars!

And you are concerned about your salaries?

Failed nation.

Don't ever let Nigeria happen to you.

RE: PREPARE FOR DELAY IN DECEMBER SALARY

The attention of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has been drawn to a circular purportedly issued by the office advising civil servants to exercise caution in spending their November salary because of possible delay in the payment of their December salary.

The fake news has unfortunately been published in some newspapers and some social media platforms without verifying. For the avoidance of doubt, it must be stated that the office at no time issued any such circular in respect of salary.

The Nigerian Civil Servants and the general public are hereby advised to disregard the contents of the fake circular as the work of mischief makers.

Furthermore, the said signatory to the circular, one Dr. S.A. Adegoke is not a staff of the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation as there is no record of such an officer in the office.

It stands to reason therefore that those behind the so-called circular are just out to cause mischief by spreading false information for reasons best known to them.

It bears restating therefore that:

(a) The so-called circular is nothing but fake news;

(b) No such circular was written or emanated from the office;

(c) The general public should please disregard the news for what it is: a tale told by those out to cause unnecessary panic and disaffection among Civil Servants; and

(d) That the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation will continue to place high premium on the welfare of workers.
