Please read well! He never said fornication is not a serious sin. He rather said it's not the most serious of sins, meaning it's a serious sin but there are other sins that are more serious which even a lot of us christians tend to overlook. I'm not Catholic neither am I trying to support him but he's absolutely right. The most serious and grievous of sins as alluded to in scriptures is sins of the spirit not the flesh!

The Pope may have gave his response according to the question asked by the journalist.
The journalist may have asked comparing sexual sin has the greatest sin. The Pope clearify that is big sin compare with other sin.

Please read well! He never said fornication is not a serious sin. Did the pope say it wasn't a sin? English grammar isn't so difficult is it?

WHen someone says something isn't the 'MOST SERIOUS', that should already tell you the issue is serious.

Anyone who says 'sin is sin' is simply deceiving himself. You cant tell me that murder or mass murder in cold blood is the same as a 12 year old boy who pinches an extra piece of meat from his mother's pot.
