I am sure you might have seen the thread where someone was claiming the winged cat sculpture at the UN is an augury for the arrival of the anti-christ.

https://www.nairaland.com/6887107/new-united-nations-guardian-sculpture

Now since I am not a Christian myself, I am prone to looking at things from a very different perspective. I might be wrong but hear me out first.

My first thought when I saw the image was to think it was a griffin or one of those creatures from Greek mythology like a sphinx or something. But griffins have the head of an eagle so that doesn't count. Another thing that stood out to me were the patterns on the body of the animal. I knew seen similar patterns before couldn't quite place them.

Then I remembered it was donated by the government of a city in Mexico that most Mesoamerican cultures have affinity for jaguars especially and most of their gods and folktales are built around those animals. From there things became more logical and straightforward.

The patterns were familiar because I had seen something similar in the Disney animated movie Coco. That's a very nice movie with a great story and very lovely songs I will recommend that movie for anyone of any age but I digress. The movie is built on Mexican folklore and in the movie there is a mythological creature that looks like that statue. The statue is just an Alebrije artwork that is common in Mexico. And those artworks usually like mixing up creatures together. In the movie Coco, there is a big mythical beast that looks almost like the sculpture and the dog became an Alebrije in the end.

TL;DR
That statue in the UN is just an Alebrije artwork in celebration of Mexican culture and has nothing to do with any conspiracy theory.

Another thing I noticed which is perhaps a very dishonest trick on the part of the conspiracy theorists is that they took the pick of the statue from an angle that will make the color patterns less obvious. A cursory search on the internet revealed a picture of the statue from a better angle with a full bright colors in display. The color patterns would have made the culture behind the statue very obvious.

I hope the mods push this to the front page as well so we can disabuse people of some wrong notions that thread has already impressed on them.

This is odd for a statute that claims to represent several nationalities only representing one particular group of people .

There are many different sculptures at the UN donated by many different groups, countries or cultures at different times since inception.

Sometimes I wonder why we have to focus on this theories, I mean what would it change? If there is a prophecy that will be fulfilled it definitely will, why stress yourself over anything?

We are in a time where negative things sell quickly that positive things, imagine we are more focused on getting better and developing oneself, adding value and pray, study the bible or the Quran, which ever one you believe in and stop creating a story of distraction and planting envy.

Most pastors/imam/bhudist today tell stories of how the other religion is bad and only their religion should he followed, I mean this distraction won't let us grow at all.

God bless you op. Your intellectual oil will never run dry. Anyone who understands the Olmecs, Aztecs, Toltecs and Incas culture would understand that the statue is something cultural and not the nonsense some religious fanatics are depicting. Thank you Buliwyf

The name of this figure is called " The Guardian of International Peace and Security ".

Question : why would something this heinous be erected for something that symbolizes peace ? undecided

You can go to U.N. headq in New York to smash the sculpture if you don't like it. New Yorkers aren't complaining neither is American govt complaining. undecided

The first question is why do you think the statue is heinous? Unless there is some other definition of heinous I don't know about.
The second question is why not? Those creatures depicted by the Alebrije are sometimes believed to be guardians in Mexican folktale. Why can't that be the case here.

Everything in life should not be viewed with a parochial religious lens.

You're still not answering the initial question :Why would something that's meant to be the International symbol of peace look this heinous? Answer

It's obvious you don't know the meaning of heinous. Someone has already advise you to go and break the statue of you don't like it. To the rest of us the statue is a beautiful and colorful celebration of culture and has no other ridiculous connotations whatsoever.

This is my last reply to you.

SHUT UP. YOU DON'T KNOW THAT.

Small boy talking rubbish.

Better go and research elite occult symbolism fully, before coming here to make assertions.

We have seen your own maturity here big boy. If you had anything in that head of yours other than puerile name-calling you would have told us how that statue represents occult symbolism or provided factual counter-arguments against my claims on this thread.

I expect you to reply with nothing else but more drivel anyway. A kid cannot act beyond the constraints of his mental capacity. Please don't disappoint.

1 Thessalonians 5:3
While people are saying, “Peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Revelation 13: 2
And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority.
At this time, the bible says we should watch and pray.
