As a matter of fact, one of my good friends from Borno state, that currently resides in Delta state ( having run away in the heat of the insurgency), was telling me recently, of his plans to go back to Borno, as people have started going back to their farms, in their numbers.

Thousands of IDPs have returned to their once ravaged communities, and to their farms. Power supply has since been restored in Maiduguri and its environs.

The 76km Bama-Banki Road, which connects Borno to Cameroon and Chad, closed down in 2012 at the heat of Boko Haram insurgency has been reopened after 9 whole years.

We can only imagine the economic impact of shutting down such hyper-economic route for almost a decade.

To everyone who didn't know the true story. The topic is misleading. Nigeria rather backed down on this fight when UAE ordered all flights into UAE not to carry a Nigerian passport holder. We had to negotiate. At the end its a win win but UAE came out top. While they gave air peace 7 slots into Dubai instead of the desired sharjar airport, Nigeria gave them their requested 21 slots.

However its a big lesson for us to develope our country first before flexing muscles with countries that can do without us.

All I see here are deluded Nigerian youths that would rather abuse each other across ethnic lines while politicians loot the country dry.

This still shows UAE and Emirate had more to lose. Emirate loses one of its lucrative routes and billions of dollars income in a year. UAE looses goodwill with both Nigeria and other countries. Compare that with what Nigeria and Airpeace stand to lose.

Sometimes it is better to feel the pain of the enterpreneur. That man has fought so many battles right from inception. From the AOC issue with NCAA, to issues with FAAN, AIB, customs, at some point even the aviation minister. He has fought for virtually almost everything including countries (Togo, south africa, ivory coast, now UAE), . Many started this business and gave up. It is indeed a very difficult terrain to operate in Nigeria.
