I don't believe anyone absolutely, but the truth lies between Chichi's story(the baby's mother) and Madam Tina's story.

All I can say is the baby's mother is not free of blame!

If found guilty, she should also be starved to the point of no return

This is wrong from all angles, for God sake you are supposed to be compassionate as a woman especially on little kids. Agreed you may not totally be wrong from the beginning to the end but I’m very sure you noticed the malnourished state of the child very early and even though the baby’s child is not responsible, you could have strived to make sure the baby gets enough food at least since you are a mother and wouldn’t want that for your baby too

Police has arrested lady identified as Tina Ogbonnaya who allegedly seized and starved a 5-months-old son of her 19-year old female worker over unpaid debt, IgbereTV reports.

The 19-year-old mother claimed that her madam seized her baby because she couldn't pay back the hospital bill she helped her clear.

The baby died after the Lagos State Social Welfare and the police had intervened in releasing the child to the mother. The baby had lost so much weight after being with Tina Ogbonnaya.

Human rights activist, Harrison Gwamishu who is helping the mother to get justice on the matter announced the arrest of the woman on Instagram. Sharing photos of the arrested woman, he wrote;

A whole lot. No sane human being will take possession of another woman's toddler for 5 months over unpaid debts. This is not about heartlessness, but the fact that it makes no economic sense. What's she going to gain feeding someone else's child with her money??

Maybe she did that initially but it is very obvious that the mother of the child never had any need for the child in the first place. How can a mother even sleep without her baby. This can only be the work of a senseless as.hawo who, at the time, needed to dump her baby somewhere so she can continue her "soft" work. That's their mode of operation.

The media will obviously twist the story due to misguided sympathy. Sad that this woman may never get out of this mess despite her testimony and witnesses. The mother's side of the story is a clear case of kidnap - she easily would have gotten the police's attention if attempts were made.

I doubt the woman and her husband even understand the mess they are in.

This singular incident can change the tragectory of their lives.

Since the mother is claiming kidnap that's what most Nigerians will align with, thankfully they said they have been looking for her with the police involved that might help them a bit.

She just couldn't bear the fact that a worker has given birth to a handsome child so this is how she decides to kill the child. Women, fear women and know peace.

I blame the mother of the child for allowing her child to be taken from her, irrespective of the debt she owed, no one should take your child from you, is it the child that is owing the money, she was just too fvking naive ,even if you owe her the world she has no right to your child. I feel so angry I feel like ripping this woman's head off, she's lucky I'm not one of the security operatives ,I'd have kidnapped her to a place where she'd experience the same kind of treatment till she's dead

It is a case of unwanted pregnancy. The teenage mother abandoned the baby with the couple and the couple neglected to feed the baby. If the couple actually kidnapped the 6 month baby, I am sure the mother would not keep quiet. She would screem, make noise and fight to have her baby back. She even abandoned the baby when it was just a few days old. Which sane mother does that?
The girl would have involved her family and police if actually her baby was held hostage. But if was after the baby died that she decided to cash in on the situation and started claiming hostage. The teenage mother just want to cash out.

But she went to the police after the baby dues despite how the police work. Stop defending the wayward teen. Why not ask who is responsible for her pregnancy and what about her actual family, where are they in all these. Now compare it to the couple's story and you will realize the teenage mother is not telling the whole truth.

She abandoned the baby with the couple and wanted to force them to adopt it. The couple on the otherhand failed to feed and care for the baby and left it to starve to death.

Not practicable to abandon the baby in the hospital. If the baby died in the hospital, the couple would still be liable.
