What Lessons Could Be Learnt From The Life Of Joseph, Husband Of Mary?

Despite being the husband of Mary the mother of Jesus, not much was said of Joseph as it was of his wife.

But the little said of him spoke much about the kind of man that Joseph was, and why he was the chosen one amongst men, to be the husband of Mary, who was chosen amongst women to become the mother of the only begotten Son of God.

Matthew 1:18-21 (KJV)

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Matthew 1:24-25 (KJV)

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

So Joseph not being willing to make Mary his wife a public example, after discovering that she was pregnant with a Child that was not his, showed what distinguished him from most men and why God had chosen him for such a privileged position.

How many men would have been able to do that, especially after being given assurances that the woman was a virgin before paying her dowry, only to find out that she was carrying a pregnancy that wasn't yours?

Not much, for such men were a rarity and very hard to come by. However it wasn't as if it was an easy decision for Joseph himself to make, because that discovery would have been quite shocking and an unwelcome development, as it would have complicated matters for him.

But for Joseph not to take out his disappointment on her and expose her while she was completely at his mercy, but to show her mercy, and yet took it upon himself to figure out a way of escape for her, showed what made him so special.

Moreover after the dream he had, he was said to have done what the angel had commanded him to do, and hence not send away the pregnant woman as he had originally planned to do, but taken her to still be his wife, but without having any sexual intercourse with her until she had brought forth her Son.

In other words, he humbled himself and served his own wife, helping her to achieve God's purpose for her life despite being her husband.

Although that would have made many to view him as a simp and weakling, including many Christians of this present day, but hence Joseph proved his Christlike quality, being a bridegroom who humbled himself and served his bride, even as Christ served His bride by washing her feet and ultimately laying down His life for her.

Hence it wasn't a coincidence that God has chosen Joseph among men, to become the husband of the woman, who was going to birth Christ.

Joseph was the kind of exemplary foster father God wanted for Christ, and also the kind of husband He wanted for His mother.

God bless.

I will keep telling you. You have not moral right to put any Biblical theory forward. Until you address the issues and questions I have been asking you.

1. You claimed you are the chosen one
2. You claimed you could heal a diabetic patient, but without an evidence.
3. You claimed you could cure some brothers you called "mad brothers"....have you?
4. You made a false prophesy some years back which did not come to pass, and you were prevailed on to deactivate it. So, you had no choice but deactivated your old moniker.

After you have attended to these questions and points, and you prove yourself as the chosen one, thereafter, feel free to discuss Biblical references.

NOTE Readers: If you need proofs to my claims here, mention me, and I will supply proofs.

My point here is that this boy is a false prophet. He should not be trusted with Biblical references, and all his threads should be prevented from making front page so that good. Let us promote contents from trusted christians who can explain well and have good discussions with non christians. Such threads should be moved to front page. This one cannot represent christianity.

He is fake until he answers the points and questions above.

Thank you

The Catholics hail Mary as the mother of God.

So Joseph would then be?

Very good Sense from juniorjesus2020.

However JOSEPH IS THE EXACT ANTITHESIS OF ADAM.

ADAM DISOBEYED GOD'S INSTRUCTION NOT TO EAT. JOSEPH OBEYED SAME INSTRUCTION NOT TO EAT MARY UNTIL THE CHILD OF GOD IS BORN.

That means you should aspire to be a "simp" someday because becoming a simp is much better than remaining whatever you are.

As if the story of the birth of the Christ in the Bible is original.

Throughout antiquity, there have been many stories about the "Christ" or "Krst"

Horus,

Dionysus,

Bachhus,

Mythras,

Zoroaster...

This is pure plagiarism I tell you.
