She is not the first person to embrace business immediately after NYSC, there are several millions of them who didn't even bother to search for Job rather they already had it in mind to start business after graduation.

Congratulations to her but there's really nothing special about her selling yarn and sponsoring her own education. It's mediocrity that makes us celebrate females who work in Nigeria, if it was a guy who was selling this yarn and sponsoring his education no one would celebrate him. We have this mentality that women are created to enjoy while guys are created to suffer and that's why we celebrate this kind of mediocrity. Back then in school, there were guys who leave the hostel with their school bags, you'll think they're going for lectures but they are actually going to do labour work in construction sites just to feed and buy books and they return in the evening like every other student. No body will celebrate them but if it's a girl she'll go viral. We must stop this nonsense and start seeing ladies who work as a normal thing. That's the only way olosho will reduce in our society

This kind of person dey even get money pass some c-suite guys. Don't ridicule any job until you can create one for yourself. In advanced countries, a graduate could have worked in a yam barn without having any problem with that. But here, we look down on every job that is not wearing suit because we don't know how to rebrand a business. Yam is a major staple in Nigerian food consumption, and if a foresighted graduate invested in that, I don't see why that is a problem.

Since there's no job government will soon capitalize on that, to be able to sell yam you'll need government permit which also requires a degree.

That business is oil company. Don't underate it.
Lolz, don't go there.
That was the first business I tried just after nysc in the 90ies. My experience is a topic for another day.
See lots people are stuck in businesses they cannot get out of because the know no other business. This lady is stuck there possibly her mother introduced her to it.
The gains is small, but the risk and sacrifice is much.

Education in Nigeria is gradually becoming useless. What is the point of going to school when you will still end up as a yam seller with no jobs anywhere anymore? Nigerians need to stop wasting time and fortune on higher education when it will not secure jobs for 45% of its graduates. A change in curriculum is highly sorted to gear towards reality.

That's how Nigerians love glorifying and celebrating mediocrity, the things I did before graduated from school is legendary,I work my ass as if I'm gonna die to survive.I worked in a bar,I carry cement,I did labourer,I sold water (Mai ruwa) and some other hard labour to sponsor myself but nobody ever celebrated me.I did what I gonna do to give myself education which I know I rightly deserve, I'm proud that I never did anything evil to be the person I'm today.
