Update on the reckless kidnappings that took place in Kaduna metropolis.

You could recall we reported yesterday that, unspecified number of people were kidnapped yesterday night around 10 pm at Ungwan Gimbia, a settlement at the back of Sabon-Tasha in Kaduna metropolis.

While bandits activities is on the rise at the outskirts of cities and major towns in recent time within the country, Ungwan Gimbia is not one of such places; it's in Kaduna metropolis.

Report reaching us pegged the number kidnapped yesterday at 32 persons with one (1) retired Soldier killed by the bandits.

The question on the lips of every one is, if kidnappers can penetrate the metropolis to wreck havoc, then, where is safe.

And from all indications, the kidnappings has the signature of insiders betraying the neighbours for fast cash.

Whatever and whichever the case, Nigerians are at the mercies of whoever holds a gun, but it wasn't always thus.

A wise man once said that if the gap between the poor and rich is too wide , then the rich should start living in fear. The attacks being sponsored by bandits are mostly as a result of that wide gap existing between the rich and poor. And if care is not taken , no one(including our leaders ) in Nigeria will be safe. That's very true!
If they were kidnapping all these politicians that are making Nigeria a failed state, one would not be complaining but, they're going after soft targets; that's what disturbs me.
