Christmas: God's Love Unveiled

Just imagine going to the market to pay the highest price anyone can ever pay for any commodity just to purchase the worthless thing in the market. Something so worthless that one can even have it for free without payment of any sort. That is what God has done for us in Christ Jesus.
We were not just dirty, foul and unclean as sinners, we were equally worthless. We were smoking flax fit only to be quenched, yet He did not quench us. We were bruised reed fit only to be crushed, yet did He not break or crush us.
Matthew 12:20
[20]A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
A smoking flax and a bruised reed are both useless and worthless. Among the Israelites in His earthly days, a smoking flax and a bruised are only fit to be discarded. Yet, He paid the ultimate price for us when we were only fit to be discarded.
As we celebrate Christmas, let us remind ourselves that love is the reason for the birth.
Matthew 1:21
[21]And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
John 3:16
[16]For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Without God's love for us, no Saviour would have ever been born. Christmas is not a celebration of the birth in itself but a celebration of the love that culminated in the birth. Love came for the totally undeserving. Love paid the highest price for the most undeserving.
Just in case you do not still have the perfect picture of how worthless we were as sinners, think about this. Would you go to the market to pay the highest price in purchase of cow dung? No! You would not. People do not even sell that. You can just pick it up for free wherever cows are being reared. Afterall, it is a mess and an extra burden to the one rearing the cows.
That is what the Father did for me and you in Jesus Christ. We had no worth at all. Yet, He went to the extent of paying not just any price, but the highest price ever to be paid in the history of heaven and earth.
Beloved, Grace is the gospel and every addition to Grace is a lie. Let no man deceive you that you still had some worth in yourself through messages that make you feel that you have some good in yourself. No, you do not apart from Christ.
Love is the reason for the birth and love is the reason for the season. Celebrate love, even God's never-ending love for me and you.
Merry Christmas to you and yours from this side.
Grace always!

Can you just quote or cite a verse where Christmas could be found in the Bible?

If not then you have just presented your God as a confusionist because the Bible says "to obey is better than sacrifice" {1Samuel 15:22} in the Bible Jesus warned his followers to keep trailing his footsteps closely so that Satan the deceiver won't mislead them.
Israelites don't celebrate birthdays because it's a pagan custom and their God has warned them never to practice whatever pagans do.
That's why no servant of God ever celebrated birthday in the Bible, Jesus' parent never did it for him, he himself never did, his followers never did and how do we remember Jesus?
He initiated the remembrance of his death and taught us precisely how to do it. Luke 22:19-20 compare to 1Corinthians 11:23-25

So whatever you're saying about what Jesus did not initiate is tantamount to rebellion against the only begotten Son of God who said:

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" John 14:6
You will only incite God's wrath on yourself and others following you just as Saul did when God told him to destroy all what is found in Amalek. Saul preserved some things with the excuse that he wanted to use it as sacrifice (praise) to God {1Samuel 15:17-21} know today that celebration of birthdays is part and parcel of the pagan customs Christians are to destroy with faith so keeping any behind in the name of praise to God is gross sin like that of Saul the first Israelite king God rejected! 1Samuel 15:26

If you repent today and turn around you will be forgiven for God knows that you're not the initiator of this pagan custom it was handed over to you and you can't be wiser than Satan {Psalms 103:14} but that largely depends on what you make out of this discussion today.

May you have PEACE! smiley
