Should I Take This #20k Job by xcelattutorials: 3:29pm On Dec 27, 2021 |
Hi Nairalanders, I'm a graduate of Accounting with a Second Class Upper Honours degree and I've been making use of job sites on the internet for job hunting since I graduated with nothing positive to show for it. I must confess however that the major factor mitigation my success in pursuit of a job is the age requirement placed on job vacancy adverts that ordinarily I'm qualified for. Another factor I believe is highly responsible is the fact that I reside in Edo State where I'm from and as such I'm far away from those small Accounting jobs as I am unable to attend interviews given that I have no place to stay/squat in Lagos. I was recently offered a job as a housekeeper in a hotel in Lagos with just one day off with a salary of #20k. Should I take up this job as it will afford me the opportunity to be closer to finding other opportunities inside Lagos? Remember there is only one free day off. Or should I remain in Edo State and continue searching for a job that suits my qualification. Note: I've been at this since 2018 Thank you fellow Nairalanders. I believe that just as two heads are better than one, so also, many heads are much more better than one. |

Will you be living in the house where you would be working on this 20k job? Because accommodation in Lagos is the most important thing oh. And if you are on a housekeeping job and you live there it would be very difficult for you to get the time to go for interviews especially if they will be accommodating you. So my advice is for you to see other opportunities first and find a place you will be staying before coming to Lagos. Make they no break your head for the housekeeping job place because you want to seek greener life. 2 Likes |

xcelattutorials: It depends on you, if it favours, take, if not neglect. But job seeking time,is a time to be updated about new technologies going that so many people doesn't know, a time to be a crazy thinker, a time to be updated on stuffs going in the world, as it's now, an undergraduate can employ a Masters holder if the Masters holder doesn't keep working on him or herself on recent developments. Go and start thinking crazily, you will see their are so many opportunities you don't observe. |
