Rank can be carried anywhere as an officer. They front is preferable so that other ranks recognize you quiçk and give compliment.

The insignia can be on the chest when they are wearing their MTPs I guess, otherwise it’s on the shoulders. Members of the Nigerian army here can help us out.

Ola is piping 4 stars. There's nothing like that except a full general. If it's on official wear, insignia is carried on the chest for ranks below general. For generals, they carry their stars on their shoulders while they carry another insignia (sword and eagle ) on their chest.

The reason you're confused is because you can't find the sword and eagle on his chest.. that's because he's trying to be careful not to impersonate. You know your over zealous government. That can lead to another problem on its own.

Gen star ranks are in the neck not shoulders.

The rank was delibrate not to cause wahala with buhari.


It should be,one Eagle,one cross,and 2 stars on the shoulders
