Gbenga Daniel Arrives Lagos Amidst Cheers by oddy4real(m): 3:11pm On Jun 16, 2011
TWO weeks after leaving the country for a short rest abroad, former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, yesterday, returned from Britain to a tumultuous reception.

The longest serving governor of the Gateway State arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, aboard a British Airways Boeing 747 aircraft at 6.18 p.m.

The aircraft taxied to Entry E63 of the Arrival E Section where he and other passengers disembarked.

When he appeared at the arrival lounge, shouts of OGD Ogidi Omo, OGD Ogidi Omo rent the air.

At the airport were the governorship candidate of the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) in the April 26 election, Prince Gboyega Isiaka, former commissioners and aides, former council chairmen, former members of the House of Assembly, led by their Speaker, Soyemi Coker, thousands of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other well wishers.

Dressed in a suit, Daniel was surprised to see the sea of heads that welcomed him.

Looking relaxed and refreshed as he emerged from the terminal building, he had to wait for about 10 minutes as the crowd was surging forward to shake his hands.

He simply told reporters: “I wish Nigeria and Nigerians well. Goodluck to everybody”.

Airport officials also joined in hailing the former governor as he stepped out of the terminal building.

The former governor, however, left the airport about 6.45p.m. in a 20-vehicle convoy to his Sagamu Asoludero country home.

I suggest that this country should be set on fire.

This dude should have been rushed to ground by area boys the minute he got out of the plane.
His house in Shagamu should have been set on fire.
Gorilla war should have been declared right away.
This is one of the reasons the pin heads (Nigerians) should have voted for Buhari.

Goodluck has been our president for over 2 wks and no governor has been arrested. No sign of new air, it just simply business as usual.
I am certain that Goodluck will waste our time for another 4 years with absolutely nothing to show for it.

If Gbenga Daniel is not arrested by next Tuesday, I will advise you folks to give it up and don't expect much to be done about corruption for at least another 4 yrs
We have a long way to go.

What we should be thinking about:
The money in Bankole's account is enough to put together 2 solid hospitals (international standard) in Nigeria.
It is enough to install a technology that will produce constant power supply in at least 3 states in Nigeria.
It is enough to build up to 10 solid schools (international standard) in Nigeria.
Is enough to repair Lagos Ibadan express road.
Is enough to pay back Lekki concession road construction.
Is enough to feed the whole town for more than a year.
Is enough to maintain certain countries for a year.

This is how far this stolen money could have gone.

If this dude (Bamikole) and others are found guilty, if they are not killed immediately, I suggest a minimum of 25 yrs in jail for each of these bastards.

And pls Nigerians, when you see these people don't ever get carried away by praising them, there is nothing more despicable when you act like this. It's your money they've stolen and your children future they've destroyed. Hence when you see them scream Barawo, Ole, thief!!!!! behind them. It is even ok for you to try to hand used tires on their fat necks.

This is the only way corruption will stop in Nigeria.

My people while I am in support of corruption, I think it very unfair to condemn someone that was not found wanting by a competent court of all. Can someone tell us specifically what the guy stole We are waiting please,
Some of us just criticize for the sake of it. Some people will criticize office holders to the extent that they themselves will be afraid of aspiring to lead so as not to be criticized too. Ogun state is a peculiar state with many gladiators. If they make you today, they are ready to bring you down tomorrow. I voted for ACN but honestly, I don’t think Amosun guy performing better. I was shocked when he announced that public schools initially retuned to owners where being taking over again by the state govt. Lets face it, Govt. cannot run these schools better, I hope this man will perform better.
Let criticize positively pls.

Because the rampant corruption in the country has so improverish the citizenry that they have lost all sense of logical reasoning.

Abi ke  grin

IBB didn't steal any money from us ke afterall no "competent court" in 9ja has found him guilty. Though we all know there's no way he could have financed his mansion in Minna from his salary as a general in the military.

ditto OBJoke, Atiku, Akala,Abdulsalam et al.

Even kpapa, if we catch their hands in the cookie jar, so long as no "competent court" has found them guilty then we should not label them "barawo"!!!

Competent court, for 9ja? It will be far easier for one to locate a needle in an haystack than to find a court that will find the ilk of IBB guilty of corruption.
That probably explains why IBB and Buhari refused to attend the Oputa panel to explain to nigerians how they ruled/ruined us with the guns we purchased for them to protect us from external foes.

See why it's always necessary to ensure your Ts are crossed & Is dotted because one silly blunder could change the entire context of what you intended.

When he was governor, I doubt if anyone here would have refused a contract or appointment from him. Most times, this "corruption" thing is in almost everyone, to what degree and what position your in, determine how it shows itself.

I was shamed to see this report on front pages of Newspaper; TV stations carried the news as major bulletin.

His return is not that important to me to celebrated or trumpeted. It was a wrong diversion of attention from major issues.

I asked myself; what and how has Gbenga's return contributed to solving the myriads of political/social/economical problems of this country?

It he is one of the corrupt ex(s), he should be prosecuted. Enough of these praise-singers

Godluck has lost all credibility when it comes to fighting corruption, infact all credibility as a leader.
