How is Microverse day to day activities?

They said 8 am to 5:15 pm. Are we going to be given materials to read, then solve a task like ALX?

Microverse is far more strict than ALX. The truth is, you can't even join the two.

1. There are nine Modules.

I) HTML/CSS(bootstrap/Sass)
ii) JavaScript (Webpack, API, Jest testing),
iii) React.js/Redux
Iv) Ruby/Databases
V) Ruby on Rails
Vi) Capstone project then
Vii) Job searching.
For each of those modules, there are algorithms and data structures also, and mock interviews.

2. Each day, you have to sign in via zoom for the morning session, the two program times, plus the standup call. If you miss 90% of your attendance in a week, you have to repeat the module.

3. There are projects every week. And each week you have a coding partner to do a project. When you're done, there are reviewers whom you'll send your pull request, and if they don't approve after 3 attempts, you're automatically repeating the week. It's so damn demanding. But you learn by building projects daily.

4. If you don't have prior basic HTML/CSS and JavaScript knowledge (which you should have from the trials ), you will barely make it.

5. The good side is, after three months in the program (react.js module), you can apply for a code reviewer part-time job. It's a max of 32hrs per month on $10hr. That's $320....#236,800 per month if you're selected. So do great projects to stand a chance. That's why it's a great coding school.

Lower your screen brightness, eat good food(vitamin A sources like potatoes, palm oil) and sleep solid six hours.
Don't look at screen idly when brainstorming but not coding. Use a pen, pad and paper to write pseudo code in between actual coding sessions.

Wont work. You have peer programming sessions, and most students are from Latin America. If they tag you poorly, you'll be asked to leave the program. As far as I know though.

It's been tough boss but I believe it’s doable. I repeated a block twice so I was asked to start all over again on January 9. Winners never quit and quitters never win. Some of my colleagues are doing very well so don’t be discouraged.

Hello Boss! I really need your assistance in deciding for Microverse.

What I want to know is that will I be before the screen for zoom call from morning till 5pm

Hello guys! So in a 24hrs period, I spend close to 14hrs attached to either my system or phone. Got really busy from sept last year when I got my system. Elite book G3. The problem now is, my right eye is cloudy, and sometimes gets red.

I love tech and research, and that's what I can do in a room for 1 week straight without getting bored. I'm not fully a nerd, but probably my introverted nature contributed to it.

I got anti blue ray glasses around dec, but no much difference. Please for those with similar predicament before, what's the remedy.

I'll appreciate if modes push this to front page. Not ready to lose my sight.
