Happy new year to You all, may this new year bring joy to our family. The picture attached is the features of my laptop, I start learning web development during my Internship early last year with that laptop, it was full of ups and downs, smooth and rough. I learnt a lot during This process, HTML, css, JavaScript but I could not further because of my laptop, it has Alot of issues a) always hanging and seizing b) my screen can decide to go off while working with it and comes up after some Hours this happens randomly though c)At a point my cursor might dissapperar I will have to get external mouse to get it back it also happens rarely. this is just some of the problem I encounter although I bought it Nigeria use from one random person. All this made me got tired of programming, I saved some money during IT to buy a new PC but when I resumed i lost some to crypto and some I use for my upkeep. Now I'm on holiday am kind of idle I want to go back to learning before I resume to school, I need to pick up back this my laptop I don't have a choice. What can I do to this laptop to make it more faster and more useful for this programming? The features lenovo 4gb ,500Gb, intel R pentium Apologies for any grammatical errors.

The best thing to do is to get a PC that can run Visual studio and other code editors smoothly without lagging. Get yourself a 16GIG RAM laptop with 250 GIG SSD 4 GIG Nvidia graphics card. 4 GIG RAM can't run Android Studio or IntelliJ idea or visual studio again cos they have upgraded and continuing to upgrading them |

Switch cold-turkey to Linux 1 - xubuntu and lubuntu are good. 2. get an additional 4GB ram stick, you need at least 8GB (Remember you are using VSCode).  3. get an SSD drive no matter how cheap 120GB is fine. Your screen flickering may be a failure waiting to happen. After moving to Linux, see if it persists. If it does, have it checked out. I had an issue with my screen a very long time ago, I have the camera disabled and the issue stopped. (I will never touch another Acer computer ever again) |

You don't need a fancy computer for programing (especially web development since you'll mostly use third-party infrastructure eg heroku, AWS,...). I've been an old HP elitebook for over a year(though I plan upgrading it because I'll be venturing into ML). It's specs aren't great just 2gb ram, 64bits, 250gb,windows 10... I'll advise you to restart your PC, that's the ultimate solution for any software-related issue |

SALLYBERRY01:No VS is a one of the (several)text editor for writing codes. By third party I mean services that you delegate some roles eg instead of hosting your project in your PC, you can use heroku, AWS EC2, digitalocean,...(or any web hosting service), firebase helps with repeated backend operations(session stores, authentication,...) Most of the time some jobs might require applicants to have at least basic knowledge some of the popular cloud service |
