REPORT ON INCESSANT DESTRUCTION OF CROPS PLANTATION AND CONTINUOUS ATTACK OF FARMING COMMUNITIES IN OWO FARM SETTLEMENT BY FULANI TERRORIST HERDERS.

It is now a glaring fact that fulani herdsmen are on Campaign of Farm destruction without remorse across Owo L.G and other parts of Ondo State despite the Anti-open grazing Law of the Ondo state Government.

It is on record that Fulani herders in the month of March 2020, destroyed 50,000 Hips of cassava plantation in Amenhinti Farm settlement. Although the incident was reported verbally to the Owo Amotekun Corps command, Up to this moment, Justice has not been served and these herders are getting bolder in carrying out this Agenda of destruction.

In addition, 2 Hectares of Rice plantation cultivated with Artificial irrigation was destroyed in a single night by Fulani herders without regards for the labour of the farmers and the Anti-open grazing law of the Ondo State Government.

In the Month of August 2021, Fulani herders encroached and stampede 400+ of 1yr old Palm tree stand and also attacked a security guard in the Amenhinti Farm settlement area of Owo Local government.

On the Christmas Eve of 2021, an Agenda of Mass destruction was also initiated and carried out across Amenhinti and Isinjogun Cassava plantation by these terrorist marauding as herdsmen.

On the 31st of December 2021, Fulani Herders in their numbers attacked and destroyed the farm storage, burning down 75bags of bagged charcoal & other valuables. and also displacing the people of the nearby community who have been living in peace in this community for a long time. The video of this massive farm invasion was caught on camera
It has now occur to the people and farmers in these areas that these herders are on a mission to bring upon the people of Owo and Ondo State a Rapid Hunger Crises by destroying our means of survival and livelihood, and also attacking farmers on the farm land causing terror and putting fear in the hearts of potential farmers.

Up to this moment, Non of this agent of destruction has been brought to justice despite several outcry and no compensation has been offered to the farming communities and the Jobi green farms.

We are writing this report for Nigerians, the state leaders and other stakeholders to know what the farmers are facing, and also to express our frustration and shrewd bitterness, as a result of earning loss instead of profit after rigorous labour, funds and other resources invested in Agricultural development and food production in the state, but destroyed by fugitive from outside the state who are deliberately destroying the sole means of survival.
