I do not know what future holds. This country's situation keep worsening everything and not making things easy. I'm an undergraduate in her penultimate year. I'm sincerely scared of life after graduation. I just really hope life wouldn't deal with me in a messy way.

Fear is a fuel, it either propel you towards positivity or negativity.

We all are scared of the unknown, we listen to people ahead and hear different lamentations and different success stories, different sad stories and different good stories. Our mind mostly feed on negativity because that is what sells in our today world. Waking up to a typical Nigeria news blog you are sure to see doom news, WhatsApp status with bloody scenes. It makes you don't want to do anything, don't want to make you go outside. In the school premises you hear stories of failures and you hear stories of victories.

Here is a good news, in all this happening there is a choice you can make. It is either you choose life so you can live or you choose curses so you can live. No single one person who is successful that didn't pass through what you are passing right now, that fear.

Embrace the good side of life, see positivity, think and attract positivity. Find a picture of what you feel best represent your life and feed on it. Good things comes to those who go for life(Jesus is the way,the truth and life). Choose wisely.

It's all about your mindset. Whether you think you can or can't , you are a product of your mind.

Learn to see things positively,
.

Naija is bad naija is bad, yet people are still making it big time.

Believe naija will favour you, and it will.

I would advise you

1. Start learning a skill now that you have time.

2. Making sure you graduate with a good grade

3. Researching the labour market.

4. Seek for scholarships abroad.

5. Practicing aptitude tests, interviews, and attending career seminars.

6. Having discussions with successful mentors, you can learn one or two things on how to navigate the uncertain world before you.

Your fears are normal, but you have to start taking actions that'll increase your chances of success.

Honestly, it's very good you are pessimistic at this stage. You have two options. If your grades are very good, that is you have a high 2 1 or a first class, start studying for the GRE and seek for admission in the USA. Dont waste your time with nothing else.

If your grades are low. Low 2 1 and below, find a digital skill and learn now and start honing it. There's absolutely nothing Nigeria has to offer.

Under the current leadership of the country, you fears are well founded and you have every reason to be afraid as you are not guaranteed a good job and a future after graduation.

I hear say even unborn children in heaven are scared shitless of coming into Buhari Nigeria.

After your studies, get a professional certification that has an international appeal and apply for jobs outside the country to have a second option for yourself in case they burn the country to the grounds.

Start acquiring skill and trades that will put you at an advantage before you even graduate. Take professional courses. Please, don't depend solely on your certificate.

I plead that u erase such thoughts. Believe in yourself and your future. Never let go of your dreams, and work hard in achieving them. I'm certain that with prayers and hardwork, all your sufferings will become history.

Pls, never join bad gang. It may seem pleasurable from the start, but trust me, the end is always unpleasant.
Once again, I pray u get favored without having to deffer any session.

At this time, plan the future. You have some time for deep reflections. You may want to plan your options in terms of staying back or traveling abroad.

If the latter is your choice, start researching about scholarship/ funding options and if otherwise, think of what skills you can acquire to make you stand out from the crowd.

@Op;

This poster below, has provided very valuable ideas for you to ponder over especially the 1st point.

I'll repeat the 1st point again for you to know how important it is; here we go; Don't rely solely on your degree as the only avenue to generate income; be sure to learn additional skill(s) so that you can also have an income from your other skill(s) acquired.

Hmmmmm...

Yours is coming early. I felt exactly that way after I concluded my first degree exams. I am not sure what triggered it. Probably fear of the unknown, but I channeled that fear into creating positive energy which propelled me to achieve a bit more than I deserved. I am sure you will be fine.
