since Our problems can't be fixed in a year, why did Buhari and Tinubu deceived Nigerians? Buhari said in 2014 that a serious government will solve Nigerias insecurity challenge within a year. What has he done for 7 years? Btw, Nobody voted Buhari because of Money. He never had money to share. The West Voted because of Tinubu and Osinbajo influence. Buhari and Tinubu deceived Nigerians with the "Change" , and Nigerians fell for the worst I search of the better.

Wait let us divide and put things in each box!

Public /Private partnership as a means of bringing about development is a good idea .it is just that it comes with pros and cons!.The essence of Public/Private venture is to embrace private funds and expertise of which the public enterprise does not have.

For agriculture,I don't know of public/Private venture but I am sure of Private venture into farms and it's allied industries.
One would have expected the presidency to fully understand the policies that are need to spur agricultural growth.
Then you would expect the govt to provide some back up solutions to the issues of land, taxes and levies, financing, electrical power, transport and access to agricultural research centers and security.

Concerning flyovers states should not wait till when they become congested like Lagos before they find solutions to freight problems.

Flyovers are not the priority when the country is the poverty capital of the world and lacks all the basic amenities.

Government need to set their priorities right. They are not deceiving people with their flyover projects.

The first four sustainable development goals are:

No Poverty: That is eradicating poverty from the region.

No Hunger: Providing cheap and sufficient food for everyone.

Quality Healthcare: Providing cheap and affordable health care for everyone.

Quality education: Providing free/cheap quality education.

If the government channels those flyover funds towards achieving this, life will be far better. These are more a priority than flyovers.

Then achieving this will mean investing in private people. For instance training youths in advanced farming methods and empowering them to become agricultural entrepreneurs. The idea is to channel the funds to become private assets.

You can get the expertise and training skills from other private companies. The government can not do it without the private sector and can not manage the assets without them. If not it becomes a waste.

This cuts into job creation, health care, and education.

But, no, they will tell us flyover will bring economic progress. What crap is that?

Which sector is the cheapest to invest in?
You complain that the cost of living is expensive now the President said let's have more farmers so there wud be more food and the price wud drop cos of competition, no, nobody wants to farm. Even if we have the best leader and there is poor followers we remain the same place.
*sigh* do you know Nigeria lost 16 billion dollar investment in 2016 because of the govt incompetence and this investment is not even in the agriculture sector. I know about that project and the investors involved.....the major one among them said nothing can ever work in Nigeria,

I will say this again, everyone cannot be a farmer.....

The opportunities are here and investors know this, infact they know everything about Nigeria and they know the sectors that hasn't been tapped yet. If you know the opportunities in this country, you will marvel.....

In a working country, few farmers are needed but they should produce large quantity of food by deploying some of the best technologies to their farming practices. This way, other members of the populace can focus on other things like tech, manufacturing, medicine, education etc.

But when you have a large proportion of the economy as peasant farmers, the resultant effect is poverty in the long run. This is what many of our policy makers have refused to understand as they keep shouting that everyone should go back to the farm. If everyone farms, who will be involved in other aspects of our nation building?

What the government should be concerned should be issue of bringing up policies that can help improve large scale farming like solving the problem of land acquisitions, farm machineries and equipments, food processing and storage and so on.
