Caveat: Before you read this, know I am a Christian, and am writing down these to clear my thoughts. If your faith in God is not strong and you do not have firm understanding of science beyond the basics, then do not read this as it may threaten your faith in God. For those who are able to see answers first in the bible, then same in the lab, it might strengthen your faith.

So, the basics of this Netflix movie is that intelligent being creating its replica with subset of its intelligence, designed for servitude creates a conflict, and humans should expect this with robots.

It then occurs to me that this is the story told in the bible.
God the maker, makes angels, some sort of robots (except they were called the sons of God, including Lucifer) to him. And they apparently are suppose to have no self will.
Then one day one of the most high ranking of them, Lucifer (the light bearer) decides he could be like God too ( a malfunction or an evolution?). He thinks he deserves worship too. Quite dramatically got a following of a third of the angels, and there was war, which they where defeated and expelled to the lower realms away from heavenly abode.

Complicate the matter further , God one day decides to make man, his body is fearfully and wonderfully made, but of dust of the earth which we today call protein, calcium. Man is weak, even in the physical realm of matter, his strength can only do so much to a mass of rocks. But his intellect is acute. Man lacks the strength to truly be a threat to spirit realm beings. Ironically, to this vulnerable and very weak man, suffering mortality, God gives free will without much ado. Lucifer and his third of fallen angels could not stomach it, it’s an insult to there desire and war, they could not hate man enough. But why did God create Man in a place he will cohabit with such dangerous haters.

Leaving that question now, the same conflict arises yet again, when God made man, he appointed some angelic soldiers in their battalions to keep watch over their earth. Question is against who? Lucifer?. These watcher could not keep of the temptations of sex. Too intoxicating, so the conflict, they abandoned their duty and took themselves wives of daughters of men and gave birth to abominations that were some awesome, others feeding on men. Long story short, their offspring are all dead and the original watchers are all in chains under the earth. Probably entombed. So the conflict of will seems to be a regular problem or headache for God.


As humans, must we refrains from making robots, as they might be more adept at living on earth, less susceptible to our weakness, and most likely we cannot successfully cage their will. Consider the case of computer virus, the same kind of smart humans that make good softwares, devote enormous time and energy to creat destructive viruses. Can we trust ourselves and plurality of our minds to create and contain machines with self-learning capabilities, who knows what they will learn. I think robots are inevitable, how ever w might just save ourselves by jumping that technology to the point of human transcendence. Moving our consciousness into these machines when our bodies die. But then that comes with a lot of sociological questions. Are they still humans, does all human rights still apply to them, do they retain wealth and how does that affect new Borns and young humans. The problems that death currently solves.


As a second consequence, why would God make vulnerable weak beings and give them a taste of what many angels have gone to war for. Free will. A school of thought is that this earth is a testing ground for the true nature of spirits. The nature of Lucifer is not in doubt, he wants to be same with God. But the third of angels who fell with him, were under his command, and had no freewill. Would it be justified to punish them same as heaven would punish Lucifer and his cohorts? Not likely, so why not give them free will, that their true nature will be shown and any judgment will be justified. Hence, a testing world, not in heaven, but on earth, at the place of castaways.

So, this school of thought thinks that we are all angels, who have been sent into this virtual like world ( were matter is virtual to spirit)
Where we are to be tested inevitably by condition of material richness and poverty, by emotions of love and hatred, by demands of compassion and predation. That by our deed we might be found worthy to gain a new status of freewill in our spiritual life after here, or to be gathered and extinguished as chaff along with lucifer. Simply destroyed from existence. Are you really an angelic spirit living in a body suit called the human body. As the bible says their are multitudes of angels, it makes sense that the earth will take thousands of generations before every angel gets his chance. It also makes sense that the life span of man should be short, 80yrs to shorten this campaign.

It also makes sense that Lucifer has an interest that nobody passes this test, so that God will abandon his plan or else be alone. Hence jinxing the plan right from Adam on ground of legality. God providing a leeway through Christ still makes sense, except we are still all getting judged of our true nature.

This last parambulation about us being angelic spirits under test is not drawn from the bible. This is totally a human deduction that is very likely far from the true nature of things, but it is still interesting for a peep into how much freewill breeds conflict and issues for Heaven.
