Last week, a guy discovered that his neighbour tapped his light. His neighbour had been enjoying his generator power with him for long while my guy will be fueling his gen and repairing it. It was when he started his gen that he realized that his neighbours fan started moving. Na gadgets wey dey draw light wey him on nai cast my neighbour.

In my early days, I once moved into a flat where the previous occupant was doing it. It was my first experience of catching electricity thief. I moved in and was shocked when I was having light after outage yet I had not connected my Gen .
At first I was completely confused and never thought the previous occupant was stealing electricity from his neighbour.
I had to call in my electrician to investigate and to my shock, the previous occupant was stealing electricity!
I immediately approached the next flat neighbor,a Yoruba man, that his light was being stolen by the former occupant(Igbo man) he was shocked and it almost led to a serious tribal bashing of some sort! I called my electrician to immediately remove and rework the whole wiring again and that was how it ended.

The warning part I have for anyone attempting to steal electricity is that, don't ever try it! I later learnt that the former occupant of my flat who was stealing the electricity from his next flat neighbour eventually died in very mysterious circumstances.

Don't steal at all and don't even ever try to steal electricity if you don't want Sango to kill you.

Bro, i understand. I have a stingy half brother then, when i was still in Delta state. This guy Kala ehn! He used to share his gen light with me then but i didn't even know what entered his head, this my half brother refused to share his light with me again. Me na only Bulb, fan and sucket to charge phone ooo. And him no dey like make person charge things like phone for him house. My cousin brother secretly tapped his light. Na my cousin female friend wey dem 2 tight nai let me know. As a coded guy, i no let my half brother know. When my phone battery run down, i go go my cousin place charge my stuff. Till today, my half brother no know. U know why? My cousin no get T.v or gadgets wey dey draw light. Na just sucket and fan. Him no dey on bulb make e no go cast.

Tapping of free electricity can be very sweet when u are not caught but if u are caught, na that time u go see wahala.

Ur writings are awful to read. U need to be BORN AGAIN ACADEMICALLY.

When my dad newly built his house, he took in a tenant. Before then the self contain electricity was connected together with all the rooms. (If we make use of generator electricity all the rooms will have light).
So he came one day and said he doesn't want to share light, he has gotten one "I better pass my neighbor gen". He wanted to use the gen freely so that's the only way to break out.
So he called an electrician to do the necessary connections so he could use his generator and disconnect from ours.
Two months later, I ON our big gen to pump water. I noticed a blue light from his window; he wasn't always at home by that time. There I knew baba dey enjoy our gen and his gen together. He used to switch off his light each time we ON gen so we wouldn't notice while he blaze his fan and T.V and charge his gadget.
I told my father we all laughed. We called him and told him. Our Bros come dey tell us make we no mind that electrician he no Sabi work. . We come dey laugh am as we dey catch cruise. My dad told him, we didn't force him to disconnect, after all he was the one who came to us for it.
Electrician talk say them no fit do the work by mistake na lie he dey talk. He dey there dey look like mumu as shame catch am

It's a normal situation in Rivers State and Baylesa. Many people here seeing nothing wrong in it. Another thing people take as normal here is stealing fuel.
