For me, only people who never went to the University at all but still became successful, should tell people not to go to the University. You can’t finish enjoying the exposure, knowledge and wisdom you gained out there, only to come back and start advising others against it, it looks like deception or even hypocrisy to me

We all know the University is expensive, and we’re always quick to undervalue the skills acquired especially when we wasted much of our time focusing on trivial things more than the education we went there for.

I keep advising people. Focus on acquiring the education you’re there for, nothing else is more important. Whatever you’re studying, know everything there is about that course, research day and night discovering new things and advancements about your field of study. Know it such that you’re very confident to go to any platform in the world to present a paper. That knowledge will be very valuable to you after you graduate. That’s when you’re educated. You didn’t go there to read and write, you went there to acquire expertise on a field of study

You studied Mathematics and/or Accounting in the University but you’re unable to design an algorithm or business logic for a business to implement payroll or optimize investment opportunities. It’s not really on the University, it’s on you because you were taught the foundation to be able to do these things

You are right here, however, guided by our real-eyeity of sustenance and living survivability, the inability of the university hell certificates to provide life giving jobs and food and shelter makes its relevance questionable.

It was not when they wanted to remove people from their Natural Life Giving Way which provided steady jobs and food and shelter and all into the present traps of deceit and frauds which people have found themselves in.

Exactly as they do everything else, it's always looks good and free at the first, then when people are trapped and hooked, they'll begin to reduce the goods that was in it and attach price to it until the poor are cut off. Eg primary and secondary schools were free but today they are in hundreds of thousands and millions and they have cut down the level of knowings which used to be high in the past for example most children do not know and understand idioms and figures of speech today because, it has been cut down and primed low.

And this is vitiated by the fact that after all these learnings, the expert has no work and place with which to practice and improve his area of expertise, thereby rendering all his learning a nullity for scarcely will he need to use it to ensure his survival and sustainability.

True, the system should be questioned, but I think the standards in the institutions, the cost of the education, the up-to-dateness of the structured curriculum, and competence of the instructors should be in question, not the relevance of the institution itself, because in other climes outside Nigeria, like in India and China, it works. In Nigeria's case, the education itself has been bastardized; corrupt, obsolete, underfunded, and lacking acceptable standards

I think it was the corruption in the system that messed it up. Nepotism is applied in hiring. You mentioned that the students can't discern figures of speech and other structures and constructs alike, well, are the teachers able to? It was on public TV that then Gov Adams Oshiomole visited a school, but a teacher couldn't even read competently.

And this is vitiated by the fact that after all these learnings, the expert has no work and place with which to practice and improve his area of expertise, thereby rendering all his learning a nullity for scarcely will he need to use it to ensure his survival and sustainability.

It's true, there are few good paying jobs for everyone, but there are also thousands of unfilled positions out there with no competent professionals to take them up. Again, it goes back to the education system. It's very corrupt and doesn't force people to study and research, so a graduate of business administration is unable to read and interpret a balance sheet or Income statement. It's not that they didn't do that in school, but they probably engaged in exam malpractice, copied during the tests and exams, paid the lecturer to pass, paid people to sit in the exams for them, or just barely passed. Even with the ton of information today on YouTube, a student will rather be on Facebook. This, in addition that the lecturers themselves who don't update themselves, and all the problems with the system.

So the student graduates, but they can hardly take on the millions of opportunities out there, because they don't have the requisite knowledge and skills to solve everyday problems. Millions of businesses out there using outdated booking and financial systems when accountants can partner with computer scientists to create affordable digital systems to simplify these activities.

But again, you're right. It's the system. It's the corruption. It's the greed. The system is dang USELESS!

The whole system must be questioned because, it was raised to be a "better" and qualitative way for people to live sweet and sustainable living in opposition to our nature guided natural living where we had everything food, land, shelter, family, work, love etc.

But now this system came, deceived everyone that it was better and now that people are in it, it is dry of every good thing which we previously enjoyed. Now no food, family, work, shelter etc.

That's what everyone is evaluating. The quality of life has depreciated to the level that people are just doing everything to eat, including the certificate carrying individuals.

All these are just hammers used to implement their plan.

Where we are right now was what those white armed robbers wanted to be.

I remember in the 80's I kept wondering why those white thieves were living to their countries even though they were living like kings in this place?

No one leaves a place that is good as our people abroad have shown but these ones did, why?

Now I know why!

It's simply because they wanted us to die with them by teaching us and setting us up to offend God, so that The Curse that they suffer, will fall on us.

And now indeed, Nigerians/Africa have Fallen Under The Curse of God and the inhabitants destroyed.

Now we have all their Curse Issues, homelessness, hunger, lack of family, lack of wok, lack of love, insane suffering just to eat, crazy sicknesses like cancer, immorality everywhere, anti God followeeship, damn we have been destroyed.

Don't mind them.
Some of these guys could be among those who rushed to the university to study anything they saw just to answer undergraduates/graduates.
Nigerian universities should remove some useless courses from their curriculum so that the country won't keep producing people who will come out to question the relevance of education out of unemploymrnt and frustration.
