Co- operative society is the stepping stone to increased production and progress be it in poultry farming, piggery, food processing and all sorts of agricultural engagements. A farmer who wants to venture into 100 crates of eggs production per day will need the following;

1. At least 3300 layers, this is based on 90 percent efficiency.
2. 14 bags of 25kg layers mash supply per day.
3. 165 litres of water per day
4. Pen house that will house 25 4- tier cage, 60 feet x 36 feet
5. 25 4- tier cages
6. Poultry Farm equipments not less than N300,000

This project will take between 10 million to 12 million naira and a staff strength of not less than 6 persons.
With running cost of not less than 1 million naira. And monthly profit of 1.7 million naira per month.
This will mean an estimated annual income of 20.4 million naira.
Someone who takes an agricultural loan of 12 million naira is sure to pay back at N1090,000 per month and make a profit of N610,000 each month. But you know BOA is not ready to give such amount to just a farmer without a commensurate collateral, but can be easily given to 24 members of a cooperative society even without collateral.
If 24 persons form a cooperative society follow all due process, they get the loan for this estimated project and each member will be taking monthly profit of N68,000 after 12 months.
