Raising a child isn’t easy, because there are a lot of things you’ll need to teach the child; good moral values, principles, discipline, self-control, etc. but above all, children must be taught what it means to earn money. Children can be spoiled; it’s quite understandable, but you shouldn’t stray too far beyond reasonable measures. It’s natural for parents to want to give their children the world and pamper them, but there should be a balance to it.
When raising a child, there are two things involved, basic necessities and wants of the child. As a parent, you must understand that your child’s needs are different from theirs wants – needs are very necessary for them to have, but want, that’s where earning comes to play. I’m not saying it’s wrong to gift your children expensive items, but it’s very important to think of the possible effect and challenges these negligible things could result to in the long run.
Have you encountered young children and teens with expensive phones? Or the latest and trendiest Dior outfit worth thousands of whatever currency. I’m not downplaying anyone for giving their children the “luxury life,” but if they get all the “toys” they want easily without breaking a sweat for it, then you’re not teaching them the value of money.
