The killer of Hanifa will never be executed after all the noise. This is because Nigeria is not a normal society.

When last did you hear Nigerian state carry out death sentence? Rev King is still alive despite losing his appeal in supreme Court in 2016. Why? Because a governor is supposed to sign his death warrant. Which governor ever signed death warrant apart from Adams Oshiomhole? They are too busy stealing money to consider death warrant part of their responsibility in securing the nation. When you punish crime you deter criminals. In America seventeen death row inmates, all men, were executed in 2020, sixteen by lethal injection and one by electrocution. In 2019 China executed 1,000 people, there are 46 crimes that carry the death sentence. Iran executed 251,Saudi Arabia 184 and Iraq executed 100. They are normal countries and are safer because they punish crimes.

But in Nigeria, even Boko Haram terrorists that bombed people to pieces are still alive. The state cannot execute them because of the reason stated above.

Maryam Sanda may lose all her appeals up to supreme court because of the overwhelming evidence against her. But she will never be executed under the current Nigerian system.

Boko Haram in its violent campaign killed 6600 people in 2014 alone. It displaced 2.3 million people. Have we been able to punish one of them? Fulani herdsmen and bandits have sacked communities and killed thousands. They are everywhere kidnapping people on the highways. They are now knocking doors and picking their victims at home. Have we executed anyone of them? Nigeria is not normal!

We need to change our laws. In Iraq once you lose your appeal, execution must be carried after a window of 40 days, whether death warrant is signed or not.

The Nigerian government says members of the outlawed separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), have so far attacked 164 police facilities across several states.

The armed separatists killed a 175 security personnel, and a number of high-profile persons between October 2020 and June 2021, according to the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, who addressed journalists at his office in Abuja on Friday.

were killed by IPOB/ESN, comprising one hundred and twenty eight (128) policemen, thirty seven (37) military personnel and ten (10) other security operatives.”

Crime pesters if it is not punished. A normal society punishes crime.

Like Hanifa's killer case like Chidima.
After confession they will plead not guilty and court will prolong the process.

Nigeria, I hail thee.
