Yesterday I was called by my wife to get about 5 Eggs when coming bc the estate gate was already closed.
And we don't even store eggs at home bc it's something we eat like twice a yr on a maximum

On getting to Obalende bus stop I pulled over after sighting some crates of eggs but that was around 11pm

Me: madam gimme 5 Eggs pls
Madam: Oga 5 egg na 600 , each one na 120 eggs don cost well well

Omo I tire
That got me asking, was it bc it was late hour or egg prices have truly increased?

You can even be lucky to buy crate for like ₦1500,₦1600 as against the ₦1800 most people sell

Then I was cheated TY

I stopped eating eggs after I bought a couple of bad ones and it was since the price went up and people stopped buying. So when you go to buy, all you'll meet is eggs of two weeks on the shelf because the sales has dropped.

For now, I don't look it's way.

The only time I buy eggs myself is when I want to make batter-fried meat/chicken or bake something and I don’t do much of either these days. My kpuff-kpuff is a flaming disaster that ends up looking like akara every time (I’ve had mates/acquaintances give me their recipe but it just doesn’t agree with my hands, ever) and banana bread is so 2019/2020 (I was about it before lockdown made it popular). Other than what’s scrambled for Asian fried rice (which I actually somewhat like) and maybe certain omelettes I do not like eggs.
