Martin woke up with a start, sweating profusely. "Gosh" he said to himself. I must have been dreaming. His bed spread was drenched in the stench of his perspiration.
"This is a bad omen" he whispered to himself.

He prepared a quick breakfast and set out for work. Sauntering down his street, he saw a silhouette of two people approaching him from the rear. The dream he had flashed back and fear gripped him. Could this be a manifestation of the night mare?
This is the postulation of an average Nigerian. We have managed to intertwine myth with reality in the fabrics of our essence over the years. Our lack of security as a nation has succeeded in making every one spooky.
Security is the bane of every society.
Most third world countries have failed to put up a strong security and educational framework. The sustainability of every society is hinged on a strong security footing, thereby promoting an egalitarian society.
The Government approach to security issues could be likened to a "rabbit hole" approach. It is an open secret that some police stations have less than 3 functional patrol vehicles to combat crime. The monthly running allocation to these stations could so paltry as #30,000 (less that $70) to run.
Having a critical look at how dysfunctional our security as a country is, the citizenry has decided to come up with a number of ways to secure their environment; estate gates, private security guards, patrol vehicles, cctvs, etc.
Going into a new electioneering circle, we should make sure we ask the necessary relevant question and ask for empirical and proactive response from our leaders.
