In response to this thread I want to drop my own opinion as to why Lai really has no point to make.

1. Looking at the cause of both protests, they are not comparable. #EndSars was youth protesting against police stealing, terrorizing, robbing at gun point and killing them. #Freedomrally is an anti mask mandate, conspiracy theory and white supremacy funded protest in the midst of a pandemic.

2. There is a point that the #EndSars blocked the Lekki gate. I would say that was the only social disorder they did. I would have expected a right thinking government to use the impeding of traffic and disrupting people going their normal business to get a valid court or other constitutional order to use the police to disperse those blocking the roads with crowd control and anti-riot procedures as seen in Canada. This would have limited protesters to the parks and sidewalks and ultimately diffuse the protests. But what did Lai Mohammed paymasters do? They advised the commander who probably could not think for himself and think of his image to sign off on the murder of citizens on the street. So what exactly is Lai justifying?

3. The Gofundme of the Canadian protesters was suspended after the government rightfully went to court and argued that the source of funding coming mostly from the Trump white supremacists of America was not with good intentions. Lai M, Emefiele and Co, with powers not allocated to them in law decided to please a cabal by abusing the Nigerian laws and degrading the judicial process to unilaterally block accounts of people who were affected by police brutality and chipped in to fund a constitutionally allowed peaceful protest. They only went to court after the outrage on their unconstitutional actions.

4. The state of emergency declared in Ottawa was as a result of the freedom protesters coming into the city from other areas. Normally, due to the protesters being white, they probably had a lenient law enforcement allow them to stretch their luck. Given the Covid19 rules and the court mandating the protests as not a peaceful protest disrupting international trade with US and damages to billions of dollars, the government was legally allowed to disperse the protesters (Not Kill them as Lai Muhammed tacitly justifies such). If the same treatment given to Black and Indigenous population was applied here, a state of emergency would not have been needed.

5. Even with the declaration of the initial protest by competent legal process as an illegal gathering, the police demonstrated maximum restraint. The several arms of government and the security agencies ensured that the protesters are protected while hinting them of their impending forceful removal. We saw the opposite of security vessels, state transport vessels and police cars ferrying thugs and weapons to attack peaceful protesters. I would say in Canada, the majority of people were against the protests and at some point, neighbourhoods came out to block the convoys and up till now the mass of people are blaming the police for not doing enough to remove the "invaders: due to #whiteprivilege which is currently a trending twitter topic in Canada.

6. Lai claims that the #EndSARS protesters destroyed properties in Lagos which is a huge lie. Properties in Lagos was destroyed by hoodlums' after the government hijacked the Lekkigate protest and killed protesters. The aftermath was a whole lot of enraged youth. And those that lean towards arson and destruction took out their frustration on government property. Some others like us maintain a deep resentment of those responsible for the murder of innocent youth.
The commanders that were at Lekki that night are known and even blatantly refused to be summoned by a constitutional process suggesting backing from the top. Even the military has not shown results of any investigation of the soldiers involved.

7. Comparing #EndSARS - A cry for help by the youth to stop killing them (which is sadly still ongoing) with people invading the Legislature in US with arms with intention to "kill Speaker Nancy Pelosi" due to an election not going their way and a protest against government trying to protect the general populace in a pandemic under a guise of "freedom" is insidious. Instead of Lai Mohammed to attempt to keep showing the cabal justification of resources channeled to the information ministry, he should study and relate to them how to manage a protest legally, using as much force as legally allowed without committing crimes against humanity due to intellectual deficit.

8. In finality, Lai M as minister of information should instead of his false eureka moment, take some lessons (even if it is too late for him and his dictatorship band) on how this current protest has been handled and inform his principal to surround himself and listen more to intellectuals and follow the rule of law instead of allowing a shadow cabal and death mongers to be his influencers.
