I was going through my dad's stuffs and I bumped into this note that has the prices for bag of cement, trip of sand and so on, I felt like going back in time when things in Nigeria were so cheap.... Aaaaahhhhh!!!!

Bag of cement as at 1994 is between 227-237 Naira whereas bag of cement now is 4400 Naira... We have some things we want to fix at our house and the bricklayer wrote 25 bags of cement at #4400 each (including cost of transport/offloading), trip of sharp sand at #40,000 shocked shocked Mad ooooooooooo undecided undecided

Not much have changed on the price just that naira value is nosediving. #237 per bag back then to me is huge considering that minimum wage was #700 - #1500. So a civil servant can only buy around 7 bags if he earns the highest amount possible, while those earning the lowest can only afford 3 - 4 bags a month. Today the minimum wage is #30,000 and a bag of cement is now #3900, so a civil worker can only buy 7 bags too as at today.

It is just the number on the naira note that is moving up due to inflation and devaluation.
