Phillip Ige is the presiding pastor of a new generation church in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital. As a man of the robe, he must have strived to keep the injunction of Apostle Paul in I Timothy3:2 that: “A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, ” but found it too heavy a cross to bear. True he is the husband of one wife but he is not known to be strict with his wild oats. He is said to be in the habit of sowing them in any available and willing piece of land.

In spite of this, his congregation apparently being good Christians did not judge him for thy never wanted to be judged. He remains the Presiding Pastor. In the same confluence town is a popular fashion designer, Mariam Buba, reputed not to be stingy with her favours. She reportedly dispenses it generously to her male admirers. It is however not a closely guarded secret that Buba and Ige are lovers. The mother of two and the cleric who is also married with children and the Secretary of the Kogi State branch of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) are said to have been at for the past three years.

Buba is also reputed not to hesitate in splashing her hard earned cash on her boyfriends. Their affair is said to be so strong that it had taken them to several cities in the country as well as some West African countries. However, the generous fashion designer is just one of the numerous lovers of the pastor whose weakness for anything in skirt is practically legendary. The bubble however burst for Pastor Ige recently, when he went for a Mandatory Professional Continuing Education Development (MPCED) organised by the ANAN in Minna, Niger State. Once he got the invitation to the event in Minna, Ige, chose a love nest for his planned escapade, a hotel suite different from the one booked by the organisers of the programme. While other participants at the conference stayed on at the hotel booked for them, Ige’s was miles away. He was with Buba who accompanied him on the trip. The “couple” arrived in Minna two days before the commencement of the programme.

She told Saturday Mirror, that Ige had told his family and congregation that he needed to be in tshe Power State ahead of other participants, citing his position in the organisation as chief reason. According to the middle aged Buba, she and her pastor friend lodged at a different hotel earmarked for the participants of the conference. Ige would neither tell anyone where he was lodged, nor would he reveal the address. She disclosed further that the two days were exclusively devoted to marathon sessions of sex bouts. But once the conference started, Ige asked her to wait back at the hotel while he would attend the event. But on the third day of the conference, trouble started between the two love birds.

The first two days of the conference, Ige returned to Buba in their hotel room, but on the third day, Ige apparently poised to sample another juicy apple went for another woman he just met in Minna. He did not return to spend the night with Buba at their love nest. He spent it with Bose, his new found lover. On the third day of the conference, Pastor Ige took Bose to a night club in the town, while Buba waited all-night-long in their hotel room. This was to continue for two more nights. Ige would only return to Buba early in the morning with the excuse to Buba that the conference dragged overnight. Apparently knowing what her man was capable of doing, Buba sniffed around and found out that Ige had hooked another woman in the town.

Buba would not stand and watch the man who brought her to Minna dump her for another woman. So, she decided to confront him upon his return from the night party the following day. On his now usual return the following morning, Buba confronted Ige and demanded explanation on the woman seen with him the previous night at a popular club. This confrontation, Ige would not accept. A shouting match ensued. This later degenerated to fist cuffs. Ige gave his fashion designer lover the beating of her life. Indeed, it was a pummelling which later Buba in a private medical centre in Lokoja where she is still recuperating.

Buba told Saturday Mirror: “It is true that I have been dating Pastor Ige for a long time now. I used to think the man is a man of God, but it is now clear to me that he is not what he claims to be. On many occasions, I have travelled with him to places like Ibadan, Abuja, Port Harcourt, where we would lodge in a nice hotel and have sex together. We have even travelled out of the country to places like Ghana, Abidjan on the same mission.” Buba, while showing her battered body, revealed that the escapade of the pastor became unbearable when she found out that the man was cheating on her even when they were having sex on a daily basis in Minna. She continued, “When I learnt that Ige was cutting corners while we were in Minna, I decided to confront him on the matter. I demanded to know what exactly he wanted me to do for him that I had not done. All efforts to talk sense into the pastor proved futile. He instead turned me to a punching bag.”

But Ige blamed his current travails on evil forces against his rising profile as a man of God. Though he did not deny knowledge of the fashion designer mother of two, he however denied beating her up blaming his detractors who he claimed only wanted to extort money from him. His words: “It is true that I know Mariam (Buba) as one of the women who come to me for spiritual counselling. But that I beat her up in a hotel is not true. I did not beat her at all. I think my enemies are at work here.” The pastor is currently being investigated by the Kogi State Police Command.

When Saturday Mirror visited his church, a senior member of the church, who pled anonymity, said the Church was yet to get the report. He however claimed that the activities of the pastor had been a subject of debate among some church elders. The elder said that once the matter was confirmed to be true, the church would rise to the occasion and not sweep it under the carpet.

The man is a man of God. We must not judge - even if he kills someone, even if he abuses young childrewn, even if he manipulates scripture to make money.

He was "called" by God and is another persons servant so what's our business how many bedfriends he has - how do I know? I know just as I know God called oyedepo to spend Billions on jets while his congregation starves. I know just as I know God called Oyaks to jericurl his hair when the Bible says even women should not give themselves to vanity. I know just as I know God told Odulele that little boys bottoms is not fornication (shebi?) When all natural laws make it a disgusting act.

Please don't sigh, wonder or question. Just accept that since they said they were called of God, they are above the laws of God and cannot be blamed. Plus remember, all these people are giving God a good name with these acts so, , Do not despise their authority

The word anointed has multiple use. It referes to an office ,it also refers to an empowerment .

If a man functions in an office . He is Gods anointed by the virtue of that office. If a man receives ability ,empowerment ,a grace , it is also call an anointing. Jesus was the anointed (chosen one) that's an office . Even when he hadn't received an empowerment , he was the elect, anointed, but this anointing meant to be the chosen one. Later in life at the age of 30, he received an empowerment when he received the holyghost , the anointing came on him. So if someone functions in an office as a pastor for example , he is Gods anointed, this is by the virtue of the office he occupies.

I'm sure my answer above clears the second question.

It's about the office,not about the person .those who function in leadership are anointed by the virtue of that office.

His whole ethos like that of his boss is geared towards brainwashing his victims. I believe that he uses this forum to send subliminal messages, additional to what he does "live" in "church", to his sheeple: e.g. "I am a pastor, as I function in that office, I am God's anointed."

And of course there are the threats in other posts: touch not the anointed; remember Korah, Aaron, Miriam etc

They get away with the brainwashing because of the number of people not particularly given to critical thinking ---- even among "educated" people like "graduates" etc.

But to give an aura of might, power and being "special", many of these people ensnare themselves and then find its impossible to be what they sell - perfect. So they hide and live a double life - holy outside but filthy behind closed doors.

No wonder many big names live in secrecy - so the veneer of respectability and holiness is not destroyed. But in itself, that is disobedience to He who requested light be set on a hill and displayed to show others God's glory.
