Nice one... Can you link me to the person?
Bayobishow:

For proof of fund...... I dont know but for students, i will advice that you get the total of your school fees for example, a student who intends to study at universidade de evora.

since you are not expected to pay your fees before applying for your advice. if your tuition is 2500euros/year, accommodation per year 2000euros, then feeding per month is 60euros times 12, put miscellaneous 500euros. convert all to naira and have as proof. I think, that would be considered.

i know of a person who recently(dec., 2021) got his visa. His sponsors acct was having 4million and he was granted.

For tuition fee in Portugal, one can pay installmentally. for example if your tuition fee is 2500euro, you can decide to pay 250 euros every month. Which is very good

The embassy finally sent me an email. Can somebody explain to me what next?....especially how to to get an appointment at the embassy to apply for a national visa and how would I know immediately the embassy is reopened to the public?.....Below is the content of the email I got from the embassy:

" Good afternoon.
The competent authorities in Portugal responded to the visa application, saying that a Schengen visa is not the adequate visa for this purpose.
You will have to submit to a Temporary Stay visa, but kindly keep in mind that due to the current security situation in the city of Abuja, the Embassy of Portugal in Abuja is currently closed to the public until further notice, and therefore unable to accept national visa applications until further notice.

Congrats that you got a mail from them now and have heard them give you the piece of their mind.

You will have to travel to Abuja physically by Next week Tuesday (I hear they would be opening by Tuesday) or first give them a call on Monday morning by 10 am before embarking.

Make sure you are there physically to get first-hand information from them.

when exactly did they reply to this, what day?

They seem to reply to lots of people with the same kind of mail that they sent you.

The journey began when my husband began sourcing for foreign school(scholarship). Lo and behold he got admission but no scholarship, so he turned them down. One of his friends who have been talking to him about Portugal advised him to apply to portugal but he practically refused because of the language barrier and again he wanted a country where he felt he could make it easily. Finally, hubby applied after much convincing that he would get funding when he gets the admission. At last he got admission but no funding, although he applied for one. One fateful day, hubby got a mail that an interview have been scheduled in the next 2days.

Immediately, he got himself prepared and most especially got a very good Internet to avoid stories that touch. After some days the result were published and hubby came out 2nd on the list and the department needed just one person, so hubby missed that. We were so bittered after all the preparation and all of that. But his friend kept encouraging him to continue with the visa application that when he gets to Portugal he would definitely get funding. That was how the process began, the financial statements was a big issue. Where are we going to find one? Who do we know? All these questions flew to us, but one thing was certain this time around. Hubby had faith that could move mountain, he had made up his mind to get to Portugal. At last, he got one of his Oga, at the office to give him his statement of account letter and also a letter to back it up that he would sponsor his education (know that it is not a must to pay school fees before leaving Nigeria). So finally, he applied for his visa after all the normal documentations. Hmm.... the worst happened, after we had sold our landed properties so as to boost his own account statement. HE WAS DENIED!!!

Before he got the news of the denial, he was fortunate or should I say privileged to get the number of the "then" consular, who he asked to check the status of the visa. So after the consular confirmed it and saw that he was denied, hubby asked him for his best advice, so he told him to appeal but before he could submit he was invited for another interview and this time, he got it. Finally, he got the visa and moved to Portugal. When he got to Portugal, he got a far date for his appointment in order to process his resident permit, fortunately for him, he was able to bring the date forward. Fast forward, after 5months of getting to Portugal, he invited us using Schengen visa. That was how we all (myself and the kids) moved to Portugal and finally started a masters progam. The very first day I got to Portugal, I fell in love with the country and until now. My love for the country, they are nice, friendly and accommodating people. God bless Portugal

You can't stay back according to their policy. However, you can apply to a school(maybe a language course or professional course), that the course is up to a year. Then you would call SEF and apply for resident card. BUT all these must be done before ur visa expires
Insightful.

For B.Sc Admissions, are will going to verify the documents before applying for admission, or it can be verify after the application.

Also, what is the cost of verification at the embassy, is it per per sheet charges or not?

The advice I like giving to people is don't give any agent your hard earn monies. One thing I know about Portugal is, if you do and follow the right steps that have been listed, Visa would be given to you.

They do not conduct interview, you only submit your application (you can download it from their website) and when you meet the criterias, God's willing, it would be given to you. Besides, decisions are taken in Portugal and not in Nigeria.
Legalization is done at the embassy. You will submit your certificate and you have to pay per page. I think 15euros or so.

15 Euros, is it for every documents or per page. Also can the legalisation of documents be done during Visa application or before we apply for school admission?

please I want to apply to Portugal universities for masters but don't know where to start from. after authentication of my document can I apply or must the document be legalized at the Portugal embassy before I apply at the universities please enlighten me

vibrant99:
is it a Study Visa? Masters or Bachelor?

Do you have contact with any of the people you submitted the same day? This will help you.

I know 3 people that have received their visa within this 1month application suspension.

The embassy is actually working, still collecting documents for verification of Documents, Legalization.

Did you submit at the VFS or embassy?

I am a Nigerian that did my bachelors degree in Ghana and now I’m back in Nigeria and I want o apply for a scholarship, one of the requirement is that I need to get my certificate and transcript legalized. Can I get the documents legalized here in Nigeria? What is the process of legalization.

I sent a mail to the ministry of education and received a link to a website but after creating an account I could not log into the website, kept receiving “internal server error”

Please how do I go about the legalization.

Yes your process start from authentication at MOE&MOFA and legalization/verification at the Embassy
I will even be going to the Embassy for legalization today, they stop legalization December last year so I will be going to know if they have resume, because I have documents for verification and legalization.

Hello everyone, does anyone have an idea if the Portuguese embassy in Abuja is open to the public for visa applications now?

Need to know before I transport myself all the way from my state to Abuja, last time I checked which was earlier this month, they said they were not open to the public.
