Things happen strangely in our lives that no one has an answer or the reason why it happens.

Pick up your life, walk away and see what will happen.

You might have just been saved from disaster in waiting by next few days.

You're saying you "politely"... I doubt that. Most times security guards are very rude. Nobody will just go and make a report against a security man if he wasn't rude to them.

I was hoping to see “I did all I could and didn't let them in because they refused to I.D themselves and got sacked.”

It turned out that all your efforts were to no avail because they still got inside. If they were still outside and called the chairman, eh en, it could have been a different story.

If you are to carry orders, make sure you don't breech any part at all. Since they got inside, they could say anything! And guess what? You didn't call to inform the chairman what was happening as they entered. It's not about being rude or being polite; security guards have to be gallant and tough at night! It has zilch to do with politeness and rudeness.

Don't they give you guys guns as security?

Your chairman could justify his reason for sacking you on the basis that you allowed strange men into his house because of a little pressure and initial resistance.

I know you are pained but next time, learn the tricks of survival perfectly. Meanwhile, sorry for your predicament.

Good day Nairalanders,

I work as a security officer in a community, I usually work from 7:00am - 3pm in a secondary school, and also resume night duty by 7pm in a community close to my house
The landlord association gave us a warning that we must check all cars coming in and going out of the estate and we have been performing our duties in a polite way..
About 11:35pm last night, we heard the horn of a strange car requesting that we should open the gate, I switch on my touch to check those inside the car, it was three abled young men and lady inside the car, in a polite way I ask them where they are heading to and they mentioned a popular rich man in the community, as usual, I told them to open the booth of there car which they refused to open, I told them to drive back to where they are coming from but before I could know what's happening,. They got down from the car and threathing to deal with us if the gate is not opened...they forced the gate open and drove inside the community,my colleague we're just watching the whole scenario as I drag issues with them...
I don't know the report they gave the chairman of the landlords association, they just got to our checkpoint this morning and told me I have been fired without paying me off, I told them I haven't done anything wrong and was just carrying out my duties,I was told never to come close to the area again or else I will be arrested.
I left there in annoyance, I was only carrying out my duties but now I have been Sacked for carrying out order...
I don't know what this country is turning to again...

They most likely sacked you because, you didn't show that you are truely competent for the job. How did STRANGERS beat you through the security gate. Why were you employed?

Bros tell yourself the truth, you were not polite. Obviously you must have been notoriously harassing visitors and residents traversing the security post. This must be the reason you were singled out for sack.

If they were robbers, shebi he'll be the one held responsible or even labelled an accomplice.
That's why I really respect my estate security. Once it's 10pm, if you aren't a resident of the estate or don't have reasonable info to come into the estate and note from the resident you're visiting, they don't care if you're coming from zamfara or you're son of the governor, turn back and come back next morning.

Those people are up to no good and for good measures you should drop an anonymous suspicion to police or the top security officers. Because I don't see why they won't obey and open the booth of the car.

You are one who understands how spiritual things manifest in the physical world.

The only thing that is left for him now is to get rid of his resentment at being sacked and cheer up as he looks for something else.

A big offer awaits him

Security guards are very rude and can be very authoritative. Only God knows how you raised your voice at them instead of trying to politely let them know you were just trying to do your job.

Security guards need to be polite. Hope you['ve learnt your lesson

But as a security in a community, sebi you supposed have numbers of all d community leaders saved in your phone, so incase of a situation like this, you for just call the community head to inform him of what is going on at d security post. Whatever the man says, it's what you will follow. Don't worry, better jobs are coming. Cheer up!
