Some people no longer go to church with hardcopy Bible because they have all manner of Bible versions in their phones which they use during sermon in the church. What do you think about it? The same thing goes with hymnbook .

undecided This is actually a great question - but this is just one of those instances where people major on the minor things and minor on the major things when it comes to religion.

If you really want to be a sticker for the "norm"; remember that the 10 commandments were written on "stone tablets" - so it's even wrong to be using a printed paper bible when stones norva finish. A good number of the Old testaments would most likely have been written on papyrus - not the paper as you know today.

The question is no longer even whether or NOT the person understands and applies the principles of the scripture o....but na wedai e carry the book version or the digital copy (which by the way - digital copy aids better comprehension and reading as you can easily read the commentaries and all)

The instruction is to study the word and be transformed by it. The form of the Bible is irrelevant.

The Word Paul alluded to you studying isn't your Bible either. The one who is the Word of God is instead Jesus Christ. undecided

So, how would you study Jesus Christ (The Word of God) if you do not study the Bible

Your relationship with God matters more than the medium through which you study the word - You can have the oldest copy of the scripture at your disposal, but it will just be letters, if you do not allow the Holy Spirit work in you the principles of God found therein.

No difference. It’s the word in you that matters. Besides those that preach against reading bible through tablets and phone, normally use POS to collect tithe and offering as if it’s not same technology.

Look, these things don't matter. The most important thing is your focus and true worship to God. For the true worshippers shall worship him in spirit and in truth. So, leave all this hard and soft copy matter. It doesn't really affect anything.

To be honest, my electronic Bible is everything!

YouVersion precisely.

It allows me compare verses. I may read a verse in KJV, and to be doubly certain of what that verse is talking about, I can instantly compare with the NKJV, NIV, NLT, etc

The bookmarks, the notes that I can take.

Nah. The physical bible truthfully doesn't compare.

Let's stop being orthodox simply for the heck of it. That's fanaticism.

I would not study The Word of God but ask God to reveal to me His Word and Truth as He chooses. The very first book God ever led me to when I had questions about who Jesus Christ, was not of scripture(biblical or extrabiblical) but a sort history book written of the catholic church and the reformation. undecided

When the inspired writers penned down those words it wasn't typed but WRITTEN with ink on scrolls, then TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT led to TYPESETTING which our own generation came to know, then ADVANCEMENT continued so that the messenges goes on SOFTWARES.
So whatever makes anyone condemned reading the messages on SOFTWARES the same should be applicable to TYPESETTING because the inspired writings came through scrolls copied with hands.
God's word is not necessarily needed in either SCROLLS, TYPESETTING or SOFTWARES, God's will is for each believer to have it WRITTEN IN HIS/HER HEART! Jeremiah 31:33

Therefore if anyone say:

For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believe in him might not perish but have everlasting life.
Let all listeners know that whether it's read in SCROLLS, TYPESETTING or SOFTWARES God's word is God's word! smiley

I don't like bible app for 2 reasons:

I can't put it under my pillow to prevent bad dreams

I can't use it to fight witches and wizards
