lifestyle changes is your salvation, eat before 7pm or 5 hours before sleep, don't bend down after eating, also stop drinking fluids within the stated period, avoid fried stuffs, chew bitter kola, it is working for me

Sorry about the pain you're going through. Did you do an endoscopy that shows you have Gerd? If so, the best treatment for you the combination of your medication and lifestyle change. There are food you should avoid.
Nigerian foods to avoid if you have ulcer
Certain foods and beverages can cause stomach upset or make your ulcer symptoms worse. These foods include:

1. Spicy Food
Although spicy food seems to be the bane of almost all the delicacies in Nigeria, spicy foods should be avoided if you have an ulcer. This is because spicy food creates a lot of heat in the mouth and in the stomach. They can trigger the bacterial H. pylori, thereby aggravating ulcer symptoms. The following are a list of spicy Nigerian foods to avoid:

Pepper soup
Suya/kilishi
Ayamase (ofada stew)
Ewa agoyin (plain mashed beans and pepper sauce) – some people find beans as a trigger to their ulcer
Chilli powder
2. Acidic Food
Although some food benefits the health, they might be harmful to ulcer patients because of their acidic nature. These foods can trigger acid reflux, so it is advisable to avoid them or limit their intake. Examples of these foods include:

Tomatoes and tomato products
Soda drinks
Refined food, such as white bread, processed cereals
Citrus fruits; orange, lemon, lime, and grape
Beans
Whole milk and chocolate
3. Fried foods
Taking fried foods can upset the digestive tract and trigger ulcer.

An ulcer patient should also avoid fatty food. Fried and fatty food such as;

Chicken skin
Excessively oil fish such as salmon and tuna
Fatty meats
Fried snacks such as donuts, puff puff,
Fried yam and potato
fried plantain

Your symptoms point at gastrointesinal disease (GERD), a digestive disorder causing a persistent heartburn and a backwash of your stomach acid. As your stomach acid persistently flows back up into your mouth through your oesophagus, the tissue lining in your oesophagus is getting battered regularly with stomach acid till the tissue eventually becomes damaged.

This can lead to difficulty in swallowing, or an open sore(ulcer) in your digestive tract when left untreated. It's not surprising that you're becoming underweight after developing GERD because the disease limits food consumption or cause loss of appetite.

It's advisable you avoid taking the following foods and beverages : fried foods, orange juice, tomato, pepper, alcohol. Eating smaller portions of foods at mealtime and chewing thoroughly before swallowing help to control symptoms. Also, you should practice eating your dinner 3 hours before bedtime so as to let the acid in your stomach go down well.

NB : As it's quite common to treat this condition with antacids, most antacids are for quick and temporary results. However, overuse of some antacids can cause side effects, such as diarrhea or sometimes kidney problems. So you need to be careful here.

Its proper treatment is targeted at reducing the relaxation of your lower oesophageal sphincter which allows the acid backwash, and also healing the damaged oesophagus tissue.

Does the heartburn often worse immediately after eating or when you lie in bed? Are you also having problem swallowing?
