Sacrifice Made Without Blemish



“Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats. But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you. And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the Lord to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein. Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the Lord, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the Lord. Either a bullock or a lamb that hath any thing superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted. ...Neither from a stranger's hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, and blemishes be in them: they shall not be accepted for you. (Lev.22:19-25). Sacrifice can be defined as a precious thing for a person's use which he or she decides to let go of without minding the cost or the inconveniences it may cause him or her. As at the time of the children of Israel, herds (a collection of animals in possession of an individual) are as precious as gold being the principal source of their wealth. At God's demand, they (Israelites) released the animals to the priest for atonement. However, it is not all the animals in their possession that are qualified or acceptable to God for sacrifice but only the ones without blemish. Thus, not the lamed, the blind, nor the sick among the animals; but the presentable ones.

In our own dispensation, the blood of Jesus has replaced the animals' own. Hence, Christ is the culmination of all sacrifices as confirmed in the Holy Scriptures saying "For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us" (1Corinth.5:6-7). However, our services unto God today are sacrifices typified and must therefore be rendered without any blemish in our lives. The Bible commands saying "Depart ye, depart ye, Go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing: go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD" (Isa.52:11). Blemish refers to all sorts of uncleanness. The moment you deep your finger(s) into it or you, through carelessness, allow it to infiltrate into your life, there is no service you render unto God within or outside the church that is acceptable. The Bible confirms this saying "The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord..." (Prov.15:13). Fornication is a blemish, Adultery is a blemish, Stealing is a blemish, False witnessing, Lies, Pornography, Smoking, Masturbation, Lesbianism, Drunkenness, Blasphemy, Pride, Vain-glory and the rest are all blemishes that must never associate with anyone willing to serve the living God to a reward-able end. Anyone claiming to work for God and allows any of the above-mentioned abominations in his or her life prepares to end up at the same destination of eternal doom awaiting every other sinner; no matter your position: G O, G S Bishop, Reverend, Pastor, Evangelist, etc for God is not a respecter of any person says the Holy Book.

Love for academic achievement to university level should be a motivation to get addicted to reading so that the dream can become a reality; if the candidate involved is serious-minded. In the same way, your love for God's work must propel or encourage you to take the necessary steps to attain His righteous standard of holy living. If you take God for granted and handle His work with a defiled hand, you will receive His Rebuke instead of His Reward, Judgment instead of Justification, Chastisement instead of Cheerful look of the Lord, and Condemnation instead of Commendation. The Lord Jesus said "And that servant, which knew his lords will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes...for unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required" (Luk.12:48). Just as the fire kindled by man can never be compared with the one kindled by the Almighty God, so also are the stripes of judgment in His hands against all they with blemishes in their lives and still bearing the vessels of the Lord in various churches. The church leaders that plant abominable personalities into the workforce without first X-raying their lives with the Scriptures to find out if they are spiritually qualified or not shall have themselves to blame in the eternity of agony for the Bible commands saying "Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other man's sins: keep thyself pure" (1Tim.5:22).

It is good to work for God in order to have a fulfilled life; leave a footprint on the ground of your short life span; and also have a reward in heaven. However, such service must be rendered with no blemish in your life. It is then it becomes acceptable sacrifice unto God. Before this can ever be possible, it is a must you come under the dripping blood of "...the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29) for the remission of your own sins. Remember you can not offer unto others what you do not have or possess. You can take the steps even now. Shed the feeling of shame of having been well known as a Brother, a Sister, a Bible teacher, a preacher, a choir member, an usher, or a leader in your church. Humbly come to the foot of the Cross in true repentance, confess your sins and forsake them all so that your religious activities will not go unrewarded. Never allow leadership and ministerial pride to catapult you into the lake of fire. Remember you have only one life to live. How you spend it you must surely give an account.

As you take to all these divine admonitions, blessings from on high shall flow into your life in Jesus' precious name. Amen.

10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."

I believe with my heart the LORD JESUS as God’s only begotten Son and confess with my mouth that God has raised Him from the dead. Thank You LORD JESUS because I am saved according to the scriptures. And I receive the power of the Holy Ghost to live for Christ for the rest of my life, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
