When the Germans were planning to invade Poland during WWII, Britain threatened Germany with military response should the Germans invade. After Germany invaded Poland Britain declared war on Germany, but not a single British troop was sent to Poland to rescue them from the German army.

The US gave the Ukrainians the impression that if Russia invade then NATO would respond immediately, but it seems that is not the case here, the fate of the Ukrainians is now in their own hands.

100% correct, it's a normal thing during war both parties do capture each other...

You nail it.Blinken was warming as though the U.S led NATO will respond in a blink of an eye should Russia invade Ukraine.
